Fitzrovia Bicycles Ltd (Permanently Closed)

Superb service on two difficult jobs (a tricky rethreading of a bottom bracket shell and the refurbishment of a thirty year old headset). Both carried out to a really high standard and for unfeasibly low prices. Best quality? The absence of fuss. They really are proper bike people.

Great service. They looked after my bike twice and both times quickly and well done. I'll go back there whenever I need someone to look after my bike.

Good bike shop...needed my brakes done quick..they were busy but borrowed me tools and advice and did it myself in the shop....

Brought in my crossbike with a flat tyre. They repaired it, and charged me £16. I asked for a student discount and he started to get really annoyed and I payed and left. Now I had a flat and replaced the tube myself (£4 on amazon) and realised they put a tiny road tyre tube in that was not compatible with my cross tyres. I wish there was a way to get my £16 back.

Poor quality of the service. I went to the shop to check the bike and I ordered it. Shop assistant told me that the bike will arrive in a week. After one week I called them and I was told that bikes were sold out. They told me that they would come back to me to tell me which bikes were available. Never did.

Fitzrovia built a custom Kenesis for me. Everything was exactly as I wanted. They organised the custom paint, put up with my dithering, gave me helpful nudges and the benefit of their experience, all for a good price. Couldn't be happier with the bike or the service. Excellent bike shop.

The TSA bashed my bike up a little bit bringing it over here from the states, leaving the derailleurs a bit off. Not a difficult repair, but this shop really impressed as I dropped my bike off at 11 on a Sunday and had it back 2 hours later. Appreciate the fast turn around.

I have been using Fitzrovia for regular service on my single speed commuter and 2 road bikes over the last year or so. Service is always done professionally and super quick... I drop off in the AM on the way to work and pick up between 5-7pm on the way home same day. Amazing, a most LBS I've dealt with over the years really struggle to turn around their service in 3-4 days! Also, if any unexpected issues arise they call promptly and consult. Very pleased so far!

For other stuff (looking at or buying items, frame or a bike...particularly brainstorming (OK - dreaming about building up a frame, etc), I do find them a bit difficult to engage with as they really don't seem that interested. Not sure why that is...... they seem to do a bit of custom/build-up things. Maybe it's just me...
