What a great place to while away the time the food is really good plenty of choice for both food and drink, the roof top terrace is perfect to watch the activities on the river.

We knew Alison and Easton , the proprietors of the Floating Bridge, as they originally come from our home town of Gloucester. We have frequented most of their establishments in our area over the years, so when we heard that they also have one in Dartmouth ( soon to be two) , we knew that we could get a very good lunch. We were not disappointed with our fish and chips which was obviously fresh , and beautifully cooked. You can choose from three sizes, and we all opted for the medium, but to be honest, having a small appetite, I would probably choose the small portion next time. The inn is situated in a good location for watching the boats on the River Dart, especially as there is a roof terrace, and seating area across the road, beside the river. We will definitely return soon.

We holidayed in Dartmouth, we have just arrived back home now. We had two lovely meals at the floating bridge. I had a delicious fish pie and last night had an amazing fish and chips. Highly recommend a visit.

User

This is a great pub. It’s clean, the wines and beers were very well cared for and the food was top notch.

User

Lovely week in Dartmouth, four nights we had a meal in The Floating Bridge. Thank you Alison and staff for lovely food and drink, see you in September

User

Lovely spot for just sitting and sipping a glass of something refreshing and the beautifully cooked food along with the staff who are really friendly a brilliant place to go to in Dartmouth

User

Great meal as always and always a warm welcome for us and the pup!

User

Great food, top beers and really friendly staff. Really great place to eat and chill out

User

User

Fantastic food and service. The roof terrace in the fabulous weather was a joy. Well done all.

User

Excellent food and the waitor gave us excellent service will definitely go there again

User

A lovely setting with plenty going on on the river to amuse! The food is absolutely beautiful, the fillet steak was so soft and perfectly cooked, the starters were really good but the scampi was pre packed and a little disappointing, tho that's due to my husband not realising there was a full fish menu on the wall. That aside, the service was really friendly and attentive, the beers were good and we're back again this evening.

2 visits while on holiday. One for drinks and one for food. Both times on the roof terrace. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff and efficient prompt food service. Food was tasty. A sign reminding people to check their table number before going to bar to order might be in order judging by our, and lots of other people coming back up to check!!! We will be back

User

Lovely pub, great location, friendly staff, good food (apart from the chips!)

User

Had a fantastic meal at the floating bridge on bank holiday Sunday, huge cod & chips and a very good lasagne, great views and lovely staff 3 cheers for the bridge

User

Food very good. but since the summer and change of staff, since then customer service has gone down the pan, staff don't understand what ur saying ,desserts on menu nothing left by 730 pm and finally when we got them had to wait 15 minutes to bring us the one they had forgotten. Very sad as a lovely pub

User

The Floating Bridge is in a fab location overlooking the car ferry and the river giving great views of all the comings & goings of water traffic and views across to Kingswear

The young waiting on staff were really efficient, friendly & hospitable but its a pity I can’t say that about the two older male & female senior managers in the bar - very surly & unfriendly spoiling what would otherwise have been a very pleasant evening - clearly a very busy pub, but no more so than other establishments within Dartmouth where the hospitality was/is second to none!

They could do with taking a leave out of their young bar/waiting on staff books!

Food was adequate at best but roof top location makes up for it

User

I think they must have had a busy day, we booked table for Sunday evening and they were short staffed. Didn’t mind waiting however, had to ask for cutlery when meals arrived. Food was tasty although maybe the wrong choice of ale, flat as a pancake. Will go back one day and try again though, very setting

Had a Terrible meal hear last night.

Had the 16oz rump steak and to say it was tough would be a massive understatement.

After a few minutes wrestling with it with a quite sharp steak knife I gave up.

Both the manager and chef agreed that it was a poor quality piece and said that they would knock 50% off of my 1 main meal.

Unfortunately for me this meant that I still had to pay 50% of a meal I never ate.

Hopefully it was a one off!!
