Does anyone have any spare Christmas wrapping paper that we could use on the Gift Wrapping Stall? We are a bit short this year due to the popularity of the service last year, and if people don't very kindly donate it to us, we have to buy it in, which means we raise less money for the Hospice. So if you donate wrapping paper, it really, really helps...Please share with anyone you think might like to help us out! Thanks so much in advance!

The wonderful firemen from Aylesbury Fire Brigade's Green Watch got the Tree of Light tree up at Walton Lodge just in time, before the heavens opened this afternoon!

The Nightingale Country Crafts team are very busy at this time of year, selling their wares at craft fairs, and creating festive goods for sale in our Thame and Wendover Shops. Thanks to all our knitters and sewers and a special big thank you to Jan and Ron Adams for sorting, organising and distributing their wonderful productions. They had a lovely time at the Chinnor Victorian Fair last weekend and raised over £130 for the Hospice, with the help of Jan's trusty sidekick, Laura Ewers!

And they were right by our Wendover Shop!

The legacy of Sue Day - her fundraising dynamo daughter and Florence supporter, Rosie Reid, is organising this fantastic event this weekend - and has already raised nearly £2,000! Thank you for all your hard work, Rosie, we don't know how you do it all! Hope the event goes brilliantly and you get all the things on your to-do list done!

A fantastic evening had by all at the Music Quiz hosted by Andy Cowie. Thank you all for raising an amazing £425 for the Hospice! Well done to the winners, The Doors (pictured with their Trophy), who got a score of 166 out of a possible 200, and commiserations to the losers, Green Day.

Huge congratulations to the Florence Nightingale Hospice team for a well-deserved win in the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Staff Awards last week.
They were selected by patients for the 'Patient Choice Award for Continued Excellent Standards of Care.'
“They allowed me to leave my professional head at the door and to be a daughter-in-law. They made us realise there was still laughter and love to be had. "
... They are all superstars and a wonderful team!

Our annual Tree of Light remembrance services will be held next month in Aylesbury and Buckingham.
These services are for everyone who has lost loved ones, whether they were cared for by our Hospice or not, to honour and celebrate them by dedicating a Christmas light to their memory.
If you would like to sponsor a light in memory of someone special and write a dedication or tribute to them to appear in our Book of Honour at our Tree of Light events, please return your Tree of... Light Dedication form by 23rd November (downloadable from our website). You can also request a copy from our Fundraising Team on 01296 429 975.
The names of those included in the Book of Honour will also feature in an edition of The Bucks Herald if you wish. Everyone who dedicates a light can choose to receive a personal card of acknowledgment and an invitation to the Tree of Light ceremony.
In addition the tree outside Florence Nightingale Hospice will shine throughout the festive season and into New Year.

Today we donated a lot of furniture for you to sell, in remembrance for the love and care that you showed to a special person. Your team were great, they were friendly, and worked at an amazing pace to pack their van. Thank you to them, and again for the amazing work that you all do!

They are all living proof that angels are real x x

My mum donated 3 wedding dresses to the Wendover Branch this afternoon. I hope they bring in much needed funds for the wonderful work you do.

21 years ago, you cared for my dad; giving him dignity and comfort during his time at the Hospice. You helped us as a family.

More recently for a dear friend of mine.

I visited the store in Winslow on Monday this week with a request to look out for a particular set of books with a particular binding (to match some others I have). The ladies there were fantastic, one took my name and contact number, the other went out the back and found one I had requested! On top of that I found some other fab loot and had the door held open for me when I left! Top service ladies!!!

Fantastic place run very absolutely amazing staff. My mum was in the hospice quite a few times before she passed away and couldn't of wished for better treatment for her.

A year ago to the day, with the help of this incredible charity we were able to get my beautiful Grandad John out of hospital and back home to where he wanted to be, without their fast acting help I don't know if we would have been able to get him back home in time. The nurses I met (that my Grandad referred to as 'the nightingale birds') were such genuine, lovely people and during the most heartbreaking week, the comfort and kindness they showed to my Grandad made such a major difference to his life and made it that little easier for him and for the family too. The genuine care these nurses give to patients receiving palliative care is phenomenal and I can't thank or praise them enough for everything that they done for my Grandad in his final week. A special mention to Juliet, who came out to my Grandad one evening and stayed with him until we arrived, you were a great comfort to him when he needed it the most. :)

Such an incredible charity run by wonderful, wonderful people who really do make such a difference! Thank you all a million times over! xx
