It is a sad sad day when an advert with an important and educational message is banned from being a shown on TV because it is deemed 'too political'. 😓 The advert, produced by Iceland Foods and Greenpeace, showcases the devasting effect of using palm oil in cosmetics and food, not only on our land but on the lives of orangutans. Q: "I have hormonal acne, should I use a facial oil on my skin?" A: Everyone is unique, but in my experience facial oils have really helped balance my skin. Hormonal acne can be the worst, but I've found the absolute best way of keeping it under control is by keeping my skin as balanced as possible. That means avoiding stripping it of its natural acid mantle. Hormonal acne is an internal imbalance, and so it can't be cured with skincare. But what you can do is give your skin the best possible chance of looking after itself, staying protected, and healing more quickly! I always advocate using gentle ingredients that won't strip the skin. For me (and many others) cleansing and treating skin with an oil does just that!
Consistency over Time = Success! 🤓 Why am I throwing formulas at you on a beauty page?! Because this is one of the biggest keys to keeping your skin healthy and glowing. It's something I learned (and am still learning!) the hard way
I am like a magpie around skincare... See something shiny and new and pretty that promises to change my skin and I am immediately like GIMME 🤗😍 But if there's one thing skin really hates it's inconsistency (and too many products/ingredients of cou...rse).
Anything applied to the skin has the potential to cause it to go crazy because it sees it as a 'foreign body' (one that could either help or hinder its cause). Nothing makes the skin go more woo woo than when you apply a ton of products, especially those with harsh ingredients, and chop and change your regime so that it doesn't know what it's doing or what to protect from. Cue redness, irritation, inflammation, and breakouts. 😓
That's why being consistent with your skincare is so important. It might take a bit of trial and error to find the products you love. But once you do, hold on to them for dear life and use them consistently. Not only will your skin thank you, your bank balance will too! 😂😂 Laura xx

Well, well, well. What is this? 😉Only my first foray into water-based products! I love oils and grains but sometimes other ingredients need to get a look in too 😂 I am loving testing this gelly goodness out right now as a targeted hydrating step to use after cleansing. The main ingredients? A blend of aloe vera and hyaluronic acid. This is one of the new products I'm working on that fuses nature and science for a targeted treatment that is both gentle and effective. It would ...be something to use alongside my multipurpose products and it works beautifully with my Healthy Glow Oil so far. . It is super hydrating, soothing, and omg it seriously has the plump factor (maybe that's what I should call it 😂). That's the hyaluronic acid really showing its efficacy.
It's very early days right now as I'm still testing gentle preservatives and then I will be getting them tested for stability, but friends and family will be getting to try it out soon! I just really wanted to show you what I'm working in the background anyway. New things on the way for new year. Laura xx .
