Footloose Theatre School

Dance classes in ballet, modern, tap, street dance and stage school for girls and boys aged 2 years upwards. Established in 2004.

Footloose Theatre School was established at Sandymoor Community Centre in 2004. The Principal, Carla Speers, trained at SLP Performing Arts College in Leeds for 3 years, gaining teaching qualifications, and professional dance experience, and left as a diploma graduate.

The school prides itself in having fully qualified teaching staff, who are not only CRB cleared and First Aid trained, but have a wealth of teaching experience between them. All teachers are members of the I. S. T. D (International Society of Teachers of Dance) Which is one of the worlds largest international dance bodies.

The teachers aim to develop confidence, sense of rhythm and love of dance in a structured and encouraging environment. The school not only has a 100% pass rate in exams, but the dancers get the opportunity to perform every year at a professional theatre where they really get to capture the whole journey from rehearsing, practicing, then performing in full costume, lights and on stage to an audience. Opportunities are also available in displays, summer schools, theatre trips, workshops, and residential trips.
