Views from The Old Pale - just stunning.

Happy Guests: I love this place. A delightful cottage with everything you need for a break – a true home from home. We have visited for long weekend breaks and for me it works perfectly; after a long drive on a Friday evening the location, environment and atmosphere are wonderful. You can almost feel the stress running out of your body as soon as you open the car door and breathe in the fresh forest air. The location is perfect for a relaxing time in the Cheshire countryside..., or as a base for exploring the North West’s major cities and their environs (Chester, Liverpool, Manchester). For weekend breaks there are activities in Delamere Forest itself for children of all ages (from Gruffalo trail to zip wires) and really no need to venture outside of the forest area at all. A word about the hosts – wonderfully attentive and yet not at all intrusive; always on hand to help with the wifi or to locate the BBQ. There is always tea/coffee/sugar and on arrival a delicious bottle of red, white or rosé. Book it, you’ll love it.

Booked 3 nights with my wife and son for a relaxing yet energetic break cycling around Delamere. The location cannot be bettered, with the forest tracks literally outside the gate. Aside from the cycling there is so much to do, plenty without having to use your car. If you don't drive the train station is just 5 minutes walk away. The cottages are excellent quality and spotless. Furnishings and beds are comfortable and both kitchen and bathroom are modern with everything you ...need. Wifi signal is strong throughout, obviously essential for an 11 year-old boy!! The cottages are set within a beautiful farm, with everything you'd need if you wanted to bring your horse. We sat in the evening sun with a cold beer, watching horses roam the fields or being worked, so relaxing! Stacey the owner was genuinely friendly and helpful, from pre-booking through to arrival. She was on hand if needed, but very respectful of your privacy. Lovely and unexpected touches, including a bottle of my favourite Rioja. I can't recommend this place highly enough for a relaxing break away from hustle & bustle. I wish I'd booked longer, but I expect to return a regular basis to recharge the batteries.

Another happy guest 😀 We have just returned from a fantastic break here with our families hiring both cottages. My family of four stayed in cottage two and could not have been happier with it. Spotlessly clean and by far the most well equipped self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Stacey and John were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location is amazing and is very secure. We definitely hope to be visiting again - would recommend whole heartedly.

Having a fantastic weekend, amazing accommodation for both horses and riders! Hacking out is amazing, we found some really great canter tracks- myself and my 7 friends are loving it and will be back xxx

Had another fab stay at forest holiday cottages. Happy owners and very happy ponies. Cottages are immaculate and the horses accommodation is 5*. Hope to be back soon x

Had a fantastic weekend with friends at Forest Holiday Cottages. Superb facilities for us and our 5 horses. Cottage was superb with super comfy beds. Can't thank Stacey and John enough for their hospitality, we will return.
