Reception do remote learning!
In the last week of the Lent term Reception teachers challenged their pupils to create their own minibeasts using junk modelling materials from around their homes. Look at what they made - some truly inspirational creations 🙌 🐞🦋🐛🕷 #ThrowbackThursday

First day of remote learning at Forest - here's our advice to pupils about looking after themselves during this time. We will continue to maintain our community, albeit from afar, with podcast assemblies and tutor time in Microsoft Teams. It's time to adapt, be flexible and keep learning!

Prep School Parents - need some inspo for World Book Day on Thursday....
We are delighted to welcome renowned author Jeremy Strong to our World Book Day celebrations. Jeremy Strong’s work is characterised by humour and direct child appeal. He thinks his writing has been influenced most of all by falling on his head when he was three years old and by eating doughnuts. He was not allowed to read comics as a child, and consequently discovered The Beano at the formative age of s...ixteen. His best-selling books have got many young children reading for sheer pleasure, especially boys, and he is a frequent visitor to schools and festivals world-wide, encouraging reading, writing, not to mention and a lot of laughter.
Tag us (@ForestSchoolE17) in your WBD photos on Thursday and we can revel in your amazing costume designs!

On Wednesday 4th March Forest School are delighted to host an event on how best to maximise your child’s sporting potential in the Deaton Theatre from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
If your child is a keen sportsperson either at school or outside of school, or part of our Forest Elite Player Programme – you will want to attend this event.
We are privileged to present the following panel of expert speakers:
... Richard Shorter is the ‘Non-Perfect Dad’ (www.non-perfectdad.co.uk) and for over 20 years has been delivering parent and coach engagement strategies with England Rugby, England Hockey, England Cricket and a number of top flight professional football clubs.
Richard will share in his presentation how to help parents manage their expectations in the process of talent development; reduce any parent & coach conflict and support parents in shaping the resilience and mindset athletes need to navigate the highs and lows of life in sport
Gary and Colin Lewin from the Lewin Sports Injury Clinic will be discussing ways in which parents can help minimise the risk of injury and how to help rehabilitation in young adults. Gary Lewin & Colin Lewin have decades of experience working in the Premier League and at International level and have links to experts from all fields of medicine across London, the UK and Europe.
Anna Kessel MBE is a sports journalist, acclaimed author and vocal campaigner on equality in sport. Anna will be sharing her thoughts and experiences on how sport can and does change lives. Co-founder and chair of Women in Football (WiF), an organization lobbying against sexism in the game and championing female role models, The Independent described Anna as a “fearless adversary of sexism” in their list of the 50 Most Influential Women in Sport.

It's a Forest Family Affair...
Two talented American brothers who have made a big reputation for themselves playing bluegrass music in the States are making a rare visit to the UK. They will be performing at the Royal Festival Hall on 3 March and hosting a concert in the Deaton Theatre here at Forest School on 7 March. Tashi and Kaj aka Brograss have just launched their second CD which you can find on Spotify.
We are proud to reveal that the boys' grandfather is Mr Bob Bisho...p a professional singer himself having toured with the likes of Noel Gallagher and Ray Davies. Bob was a teacher at Forest for 24 years and also attended as a pupil. Tashi and Kaj's mother also attended Forest School. And now Kaj is coming to study at Forest Sixth Form in September - that makes three generations of Foresters üíôüíô
All profits from the concert will go to Zulu Birdlife, an environmental project in St Lucia, South Africa. Tickets are available at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4 468144
The brothers made a film about their childhood on Orcas Island and how they developed their love of bluegrass music. http://www.orcasfilmfest.com/it-takes-an- island
