Did you see ‘Hidden Harm’ the ITV news feature on 4th & 5th July? It highlighted the increase in self-injury among young people and spoke about the fantastic work done by the voluntary organisation called Self Injury Support (formerly known as Bristol Crisis Service for Women).
As a charity, Self-Injury Support depends on grants and donations for its services to run. If you would like to donate, you can do so through their website:

They are also collecting used postage stamps to recycle them and raise funds. If you would like to, you can send any amount of stamps at any time to Stamp Appeal, PO Box 3240, Bristol BS2 2EF. We are able to act as a collection point for any donated used stamps - Feel free to bring them to Four Eyes Dispensing Optician, 63 High Street, Hanham, or just post them through the letterbox if we are closed. Four Eyes Dispensing Optician will be closing for the Christmas holiday from 4.30pm on Wednesday 23/12/15 to 9.00am on Tuesday 05/01/169 

Well done everyone! This morning we were able to send a full box (of 143) old pairs of spectacles to be recycled by Vision Aid Overseas. We are delighted. Thank you so much for helping us to do something good!
Don't worry if you wanted to donate, but could not get to us - we have started a new box!

For Your Eyes Only - the name of the rose...

You will get a very friendly, laid back, helpful service here. My ten year old son loves coming to four eyes as they make him feel so important and have so much fun with him. A good selection of affordable glasses and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. He chooses to come here and I'm happy that he does as it's great.

The ladies at four eyes were incredibly helpful and helped me choose glasses that suit me so much better than the ones I have had before. They also helped me with a varifocal pair, a cheap pair for reader for bedtime reading and a stronger pair for doing my stitching with - I can now stitch just in my glasses and do t have to use the magnifier. Oh, and they were thoughtful enough to provide a bright yellow glasses case for my bedtime readers so I can find it easily to put them away! I can't speak highly enough of the service they provide.

Love this new opticians. Loads of choice and great value for money. Very pleasantly surprised!
