What an absolutely great country pub! We found it randomly while doing a google map search as we were travelling south from Lancaster. The pies are to die for, the homemade chips are nice and fluffy in the middle being served with vegetables cooked to perfection. Oh, and the beer is very well kept... Well done!

What a lovely place ...... welcomed by a very large wood fire. Just what you need on a very cold Sunday afternoon. Staff very helpful and looked after us well. Food very good. Table of six and everyone happy. Nice to have live music on. Finished off the afternoon nicely 👌

What a fabulous pub. Found it by chance as passing after being at Fords Winsford all afternoon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Rachel was our waitress and she was lovely, cheerful and very attentive. We live in Stafford which is a 40 minute drive away but will definitely be back. Rachel recommended Sunday lunch so that will be our next visit in a couple of weeks. Thank you. A truly wonderful experience!

Went for late birthday meal with family. Top quality food, generous portions, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Very welcoming. Would highly recommend. Great as it isn't that far away from the M6 if you want a meal but best to book.

We moved to the area 3 months ago we have been to the fox and hounds 4 times now as recent as yesterday. and each time it just gets better nothing is to much trouble. Plenty of waitresses the food is fab. The powder room is lovely and clean and nice touches with the Yankee candles. We always book just to make sure but we have just turned up as well and got a table.. Well done Fox and Hounds

We have been to the Fox and Hounds many times and it has become my little girls favourite place to eat. We went tonight for her 7th Birthday and I can’t thank Gareth enough, he made it all about her each time he came to the table, called her by her name and made her night very special. The food was also amazing as always. Thank you!

This is fast becoming one of my favourite places to visit. The food is excellent and the staff are fantastic. We are always made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. There is a great outdoor play area for the children so what more can you ask for.

Such a lovely place!! The staff are ever so friendly as soon as you walk through the door. They were always coming to check if there was anything they could do for us. The food was superb and all of my family enjoyed their meals, the food was all home made and the waiting time wasn't long either. I will definitely be going there again and would certainly recommend this place � xx

The food was amazingly good and the staff and service second to none.

Our daughter is coeliac and it's usually difficult to find somewhere where there is a good range of choices for her. This was not the case here! She was able to pick almost anything off the menu that could be made to suit her dietary needs and taste amazing.

Highly recommend and we will definitely be back soon!

Had a wonderful meal with my siblings. The portions are huge. Very good value for money. The staff are very attentive and polite. What is lovely is the fact we got to meet the Manageress Becky who spends time checking back with every customer. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Food always amazing. 10/10 for customer service staff always friendly, accommodating and attentive. Manager is lovely and always goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. Perfect in the summer as kids can play on the adventure playground or for the perfect winter lunches enjoying the live entertainment on Sundays.

Fantastic place!! Was diverted due to traffic on the M6 and decided to stop!! food was great, play ground for the kids, lots of space for them to run around, staff were really friendly and helpful!! Well priced!! Couldn’t have stopped anywhere better!!

Called for a birthday lunch - excellent food and friendly efficient service, especially as it was very busy with pre-Christmas. It’s not the first time we’ve been and won’t be the last because our experience of eating there has always been good.

After coming across this place on trip advisor whilst looking for a valentines meal, I was gutted when they were fully booked but they managed squeeze us in (thank you). We are delighted you did from the moment you walk through the door the staff were wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing it was worth the 30min drive we will be back. A lovely meal, well prepared and presented, by helpful and attentive staff. A small problem with one dish was expertly handled. A great place that I will visit often.

So this should have been a special celebration meal for my birthday. There was 7 of us and we did book in advance. We were seated outside for drinks first as it was a lovely evening and the table was not quite ready, this was no problem apart from asking 3 times about where the drinks were, after 30 mins waiting I went to enquire at reception, whilst waiting I got showered in chips as a waiter flew past and knocked what he was carrying all over myself and another waiter who did apologise. The service from this point continued to be awful. We constantly waited 15/20 mins for drinks when ordered, and to be honest, I think a lot of staff training is needed to get them up to the standard of other local establishments. The food was pleasant enough , although could have been hotter and I must add at this point , I never have a problem waiting for food, I do with staff not attending to drinks etc. When asking for the bill I had to interrupt 5. Yes 5 members of staff at the podium. We had not been asked if we wanted coffee, just left hanging so had to ask for the bill, then again had to ask to pay the bill. We were offered a round of drinks on the house, no explanation was given for this, as to it being either for the shocking service or for my birthday, either way we certainly didn’t take advantage, we had a beer, glass of wine and two cokes. Lastly I think in future I will stick to the bears paw in warmingham. At least there the staff are attentive. Lastly I must say, the singers were fantastic.

Food arrived & it was decent. I opted for ribs & chicken, my partner fillet steak. Food wise it was decent enough value for money, couldn’t fault it.



After the main we opted for cheesecake & panna cotta for dessert. Again waiting a further 40 mins. This time a waitress had spotted we was still waiting & went to check.!the explanation on the dely was due to the fact they had run out of cheesecake & did I want something else. By this time our patience had run thin & it was getting late so decided to to just get up & leave.



Went straight to pay & again no apologies from front of house. Shame about the service as the setting & food seemed good. Won’t visit again unless Iv got a full day free.
