it is an excellent, eco friendly site with the luck of being geographically in a beautiful position on the Shropshire/Powys border with all the beauty both counties offer. Great facilities, but no hook ups, make your own entertainment or take up the local town's (Bishop's Castle) walking distance brewery pubs and live music venues.
We like it so much, we moved here :)
What a great campsite, very welcoming, fantastic facilities, will definitely go again
We've just returned from 2 nights stay in our small campervan. We didn't book but we had a lovely welcome and from the owners dog . We loved this site and its philosophy for wildlife and the environment. The area and views are awesome and there are fantastic walks on your doorstep especially since the Shropshire way runs through the campsite. We will definitely be making a return visit.
We go there on a regular basis an have such a good time , the site is set in a very picturesque location ,the site is always clean and well kept by the owners Who are also very nice friendly people
Such a beautiful place! You're really spoilt for choice here - wherever you pitch your tent you will have a stunning view. Very child friendly with good facilities and a great ethos. Plenty of wildlife to spot and only a short, pleasant walk into Bishops Castle where there some very interesting shops and excellent places to eat. I'm already looking forward to our next stay.
Stunning weekend.
Not a cloud in sky for 3 days.
Superb facilities and the Greedy Fox was a god send when we forgot some equipment
One night in and three more to go!! Stunning views, really well maintained, great facilities and friendly staff. 10 / 10.
I know we've had the best weekend of the year so far, this is the best site around, the views are , well ,..Shropshire..... stunning, if you want a no nonsense weekend with superb WC & shower facilities then you'll find no better.
We stayed in the top field... go with what your bladder tells you and what the dawn chorus is saying. Get up and look at the view.. 05.30 am no better view.
I went all environmental... no shower but my picky stepdaughter made up for me.. no complaints so that's a huge thumbs up for the showers.
A massive bonus, if your dogs love to bimble around your camp area and are as lovely as all dogs should be then them can roam free and enjoy being a dog.
Super site.
We'll be back x
Great campsite with stunning views, lots of space (we were in a large tent) and fire baskets for hire/logs for sale. The village of bishops castle is a short walk downhill (10 mins) with 6 pubs including two micro breweries and a selection of shops and a bank, although no camping shop unfortunately. The campsite has a shared room with power points, fridge and freezer. More drinking water taps in the large tent field would have been easier but that's a minor thing. Great recycling policy and eco friendly bathrooms. Our first visit but definitely not our last!
First camping experience here on the Bank Holiday weekend. Facilities much better than we anticipated, along with the fantastic local town of Bishop's Castle only a 10 minute walk away. Lovely space with flat ground if you search for it and a place we will definitely be visiting again.
Even in the middle of January beautiful views. A quick one night getaway. Good facilities, heated wet room and toilets. Washroom, sofa area and books and just a lovely feel about the place. Look forward to returning in the spring and summer.
Brilliant location, made to feel quite welcome from the start and was well received when I asked about local walks and was even given a walking map to borrow, extremely enjoyed my stay and will be sure to return in the future.
Beautiful setting for the eco cabin my 5 friends and I booked. Fabulous views and a gorgeous 10 minute walk thriough barley fields into the quirky town of Bishops Castle. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with kitchen essentials (although no toaster). If you don't want to cook breakfast there's a mobile unit from 8-11 and it must be good as it was doing great trade. Plenty of room for 6 adults but 8 might feel a bit tight. I'd 100% recommend it!
Absolutely loved it!
First time camping with my 8 yr old Jake and we are hooked and would definitely recommend Foxholes camp site!!
Thank you!
Absolutely Ace as a beautiful and natural campsite with a wonderful location in glorious country close to a fascinating little market town and run by laid-back, friendly and helpful owners. But then I would say that wouldn't I?
The site is good, if not a bit pricey and the owners could be a bit more friendly....
Facilities lovely and site lovely! But welcoming by owner was very abrupt and sharp as we were 20 minutes early as left time to find the place! Maybe worded in a different way may have improved the customer service as she was very short and not very welcoming! All round a nice site and very nice views and campers were all very friendly and facilities clean!
This campsite is in a great location with good facilities and spacious pitches. However on our arrival the staff member was not very friendly and did not at all make us feel welcome, unfortunately this was the case throughout the rest of the weekend and due to this we will not be returning, please consider how you talk to customers in future- first impressions really do count!
Owner a bit rude on arrival as we were ten minutes early. Didn't really make us feel welcome, no electric hook ups but prices not much less than other sites we've stayed it with this facility. It was ok but wouldn't return.
