Regular visitors to our page will recognise these photographs of the castle which Kieran Banner made as part of his History GCSE. Kieran very kindly offered it as a gift and brought it and his family to the castle to present it to us last month.
The model, which proudly flies the #LoveCastles flag, was made of polystyrene and covered with tissue paper to give texture to the walls and grass.
The model is so realistic that if you look closely at the first floor corner window o...f the Red House you can see Kirstie the site manager waving!
We would also like to congratulate Kieran on his GCSE results, he gained a grade 8 in his history exam. Well done and thank you Kieran from all of us at the castle.

Was taken to Framingham by a friend when I was visiting from the US a little over a year ago. I LOVED it. The day was cool and my friend and I had the place almost all to ourselves. We walked almost the entire castle wall along the parapet and had a bird's eye view of the castle and the surrounding towns and fields. Wonderful day!

User

Was looking forward to Framlingham Castle, as we were told from friends it's a lovely place... we wasn't disappointed! The castle is absolutely stunning, although my wife got a bit panicky at one point walking around the castle walls. It was a bit high!

The museum/cafe/gift shop inside the workhouse was fantastic (I think in had not long opened after refurbishment) and the slide was a big hit with the kids (it's there til October. It should be there permanently), as well as the grounds outside. It would be nice to make it more wheelchair/pram friendly outside though.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We signed up to English Heritage there and then, as me and my wife were talking about it the night before.

Well worth a visit, and we'll definitely come back. In fact my wife wants to go shopping in the town!

My daughter and I visited on Sunday. We came because we wanted to see the Tudor event which we both truly enjoyed. The demonstrations and performances were very informative and entertaining. There was also an opportunity to learn how to dance which we did and this was a great way to add to our very relaxing day. Of course we had to have coffee and cake to help us through the day too! Both our selections were very tasty. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. After our lunch we walked around the top of the castle wall which gave us a fantastic view of the surroundings and of the whole event. We ended with a look around the gift shop. This is an English Heritage site and my daughter and I would thoroughly recommend a visit as this was an excellent day out.

Me and my girls had a lovely day at Framlingham Castle yesterday. There was educational games and demonstrations for young and old to enjoy. The children loved the slide. There is lots to explore. We went on a 30 minute tour which was great and included a ghost story. The café was nice too, bit pricey but didn't spoil the day which turned out to be really warm so able to sit outside and soak up the atmosphere of this lovely place. Will be coming again !

User

Just back from a day at Framlingham castle and me and my 1 year old and 4 year old had a great time! Such a relaxed atmosphere, clean and tidy with no hidden costs! Loved the couple that were doing the archery, games and shows, we did them all!! And both children were able to walk along the wall by themselves whilst I held onto the rails for dear life!! Lol!!

User

It is so beautiful here. The grounds are well looked after, the staff are nice and friendly and the views are mesmerising

User

Haven't looked back since we joined EH this year. Visited so many great places and this one didn't disappoint. Even though we had our dog in tow we were allowed in most areas. We all (including the dog!) enjoyed the wall walk and my husband even went down the slide (OAP!) It's worth using the audio tour as it's so informative and you'd miss out on the history of the castle without it. We enjoyed the walk around the lake too. We didn't use the tea room but it looked very nice and the toilets were spotless too.

User

Great fun at Robin Hood day today, staff doing the show etc were really enthusiastic and a beautiful castle for a walk. Well worth a visit!

User

Fantastic place for exploring, learning history and taking some great photographs!!!

User

As an English heritage member I've been visiting Framlingham castle for a number of years... It's always a fabulous day out and an excellent view from the castle walls... especially when there is an event like the recent joust. The addition of the time slide had given it new appeal to my children. I think the new museum/shop and cafe part is a big improvement allowing far more interactivity for kids of all ages... And who doesn't like having the opportunity to try on a hat or two?!

User

As a family of 4, with a 9 and 6 year old, it was great. Sadly we visited on a normal weekend with no events, but still had a lovely day. Good little museum, lovely cafe. We all had fun going on the slide. The wall top walk way was fun looking over Framingham. Another well presented English Heritage property

User

Amazing Castle, means so much to our family being my fathers family home and where my sister was born , our grandad was the custodian of the castle.

Today we visited and Kirsty gave us a wonderful day to remember, showing my daughter around the red house where dad grandad lived. It meant the world to us all especially my daughter.

Thankyou Kirsty for your wonderful welcome , you and your staff have doing an amazing job there of making framlingham castle a wonderful place to visit. It proved it today with all the happy families and people visiting.

Love Shirley, Pat ,Sarah and Craig. Xx

We had a plesent day the staff in the ticket office where extremely helpful as I was on a disabled scooter, how ever when we stopped for a drink and refreshment, the tables were full of rubbish, we sat for an hour and none of the tables were ever cleared, and when we took our granddaughter to the loo, unfortunately these were not too clean and had no tissues in side. I think the slide is a wonderful addition but sad it's going to go so I was told. All in all a good day but think the younger staff need to have a little training.

User

Myself and my 2 young sons came yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it, the boys especially enjoyed the Robin Hood story telling and having a go doing Archery - Rosie and Alan were really great with all the children, getting them all involved with the show. Really recommend it for a day out x

User

My partner and I moved up a year ago and it has taken us all this time to visit this!! We happily wandered round for a couple of hours, had the most delicious scone cream tea in the cafe, walked the entirety of the wall (I have bad vertigo but managed it) and then like a couple of ageing kids, descended said wall via the tube slide.... the grounds are lovely and clean, the views far reaching and you can easily waste an afternoon here even when no extra events or displays are on. Parking is included in the ticket price, just under £20 for 2 adults

User

My 7yr old has been learning about castles at school and loves castles. She loved it as did my 3 yr old, we all loved the slide (I had to take my 3 yr old down....... perks) and they both learnt a lot.

My only criticism is that it doesn't say that the parking in the car park is free if visiting the castle and a free ticket is obtained where you get your castle passes......... a lot of people were paying for parking who went into the castle.

User

Had a lovely day yesterday nice cafe good food brought a couple off mini knights from the gift shop too cute not too i dint go up to look around but the rest off my family did lovely day out we spend 3 hours there.

User

Great day kids enjoyed the castle and watching the knight joust and the exhibition Only down side should have taken a picnic as food very expensive and on event days parking need to be more organised as we travelled 62 miles to be told car park full. Other than this great family day out

User

Not the best castle I have been to, bit small but well maintained. Was disappointed as we were not aware we needed prior permission to fly our drone. Of course we asked permission first but were told we'd need a form filled out, why not just give it to us to fill out there and then?

Anyhow, the cafe was nice. Staff friendly. The exhibits were informative.

The walk around the lake - hmm, it definitely could do with some improvement. Very unkempt. Many thistles, nettles, brambles which were left to go haywire. Also the odd bit of a litter, not sure if the lake is maintained by English Heritage.

The best view of the castle is over at the lake!
