Requirements A linear guide is to be used to hold a cheese wheel in place for the subsequent cutting process. The guides must satisfy the hygienic requirements for use in the food industry. There must be no leakage of lubricant. The system has relatively weak motorization.
... Solution The aluminum roller guides in the system FDA25 with tracks from the series FDC25.
Advantages The Franke aluminum roller guides operates cleanly and maintenance-free thanks to the food industry-compatible non-corrowive design. It comes with food industry lubrication. The guide can be set to the desired low slide resistance using a grub screw fitted to the side of the cassette. This is used to reduce the drive power applied to the guide.

DENTAL X-RAY DEVICE
Requirements The linear guide is used in the secondary panel of the dental X-ray device. The purpose of the panel is to enable exact X-ray imaging. Here it is important that the unit travels without any oscillation whatsoever. The linear guide must run easily and smoothy.
... Solution The Franke roller guide FDL12 is integrated directly in the customized carriage mount. A lateral grub screw is used to set the slide resistance and hence the stiffness of the entire system. This guarantees movement without any oscillation whatsoever.
Advantages The guide FDZ12 runs evenly, quietly and cleanly. The elevated preload (0.6 to 0.8N) ensure that the secondary panel travels free from oscillation. The guide comes with lifetime lubrication. The sealed, single-row ball bearings mean that no lubricant can leak to the outside.

Advantages: high rigidity and extremely low rotational resistance
The Task: The irradiation device is rotatably mounted around the patient bed. Thus, the radiation energy can be targeted to the body in best position. The bearing has to cope with a high tilting moment and should... run as smoothly as possible in order to be able to exactly execute the positioning of the probe.
The Solution: A customized hard anodized aluminum bearing is used. The bearing is extremely thin-walled and designed for easy running.

BEVERAGE BOTTLING
Requirements Precise filling volumes of still water are filled in plastic bottles with the highest standards of microbiological and hygienic safety. The centrepiece of the machine is a filling pipe whose inlet aperture possesses a diameter of between 40 and 100mm, depending on the size of the bottling system. The carousel is filled via the column. The column is fitted with one locating and one floating bearing, respectively. The bearings used must be lubrica...nt-free and also non-corrosive.
Solution Franke bearing assembly series LDC 250 as angular contact ball bearing.
Advantages The bearing assembly is designed to be suitable for food in a non-corrosive version with bearings made of oxide ceramics. The bearing operates with revolutions of 10rpm and possesses a radial and axial run of 0.03mm. The bearing absorbs axial forces of 1500N emanating from the filling pipe. The components are heated to 130°C every 48 hours in order to kill germs. To satisfy hygienic requirements, the bearing assembly is designed to be lubricant-free, i.e. uses a special lubrication with food idustry grease.
