We love going to Frankie and Benny’s but we did find this time the service was not as good as usual, we were waiting 15 mins before he even came over to take our orders. The food was good though,

Thankyou so much to the lovely staff who welcomed me in and enabled me to feed my baby when I couldn’t find anywhere to sit and feed her, and gave me a cappuccino on the house! You made a happy mummy and baby! Thankyou xxx

A beautifully cooked, quickly served meal was bought to us with some of the best service me and my friends have had for years. Specifically from our waitress Jordan who was out of this world. She was quick, humorous, attentive and is a credit to your restaurant and company. Constantly smiling and even drew us a cute alien alongside the thank you on our receipt! What a wonderful time made even better thanks to Jordan! We love you Jordan!

Pleased to see they have extended their gluten free menu . Had a long wait for service

Lovely meal & very nice waitress however we did seem to wait quite a while for our meal feel more staff needed .

We were seated straight away which was great. Unfortunately we soon became aware of the large number of flies buzzing around the coffee machine and us.

The waitress very kindly moved us and apologised. But it did rather put us off our meals sadly.

As a previous reviewer has said, F&Bs have changed their format so to speak and sadly in my opinion it's not for the better. Whilst the menu items are mainly unchanged the decor and music policy are now radically different. Gone our pictures of Sicilian restaurants and 50s New York, as well as Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. In is now Coldplay and plain painted walls. There's just no atmosphere anymore. It supposed (I assume) to replicate an American diner. Sadly, it has lost its appeal. Bad move the company that engineered this make over.

the last time we came we was rather disappointed. Thought we’d give it another go after the re fit this year, Starters were great but the main meals were a massive disappointment. Not really much like described on the menu, and got one of the meals wrong. we went to order shakes for dessert but 3 out of the 4 on offer they didn’t even have ingredients for. Apart from that the staff were friendly �

Went to Frankie & bennys after watching a film at vue with my 12 year old and her friend , the restaurant had undergone a refurb since my last visit and had changed it's menu too, the look and feel of the new look f&bs was not inviting cheap , even the menu design looked cheep no frills look like before and prices had taken a hike!! Anyway I ordered cheese burger and chips which was always yummy and came with a small side salad garnish only lettuce, cucumber and toms but no just burger and chips which was cold and very chewy, my daughter had adult pizza which looked nice as before but was also cold and very dry she commented 'like eating cardboard ' her friend had spaghetti and meatballs which there was loads of but pasta was cold and rubbery, overall not a nice experience , come on f&bs you used to be the place to go in gunwharf portsmouth but not anymore definitely won't be visiting again!!!

Was a busy night 9th November firework show was being held at Gunwharf at 7.30pm.

Table was booked for 5.45pm turned up early 5.30pm and waited for a table.

1hr later still no food, found waitress and asked what time the good was due.

Food followed 10 minutes later, partners steak had no pepper corn sauce as requested with the original order we had to get our own additional sauces and onion rings were cold.

Requested bill when the food came with discount again had to chase this up.

Made it out of the restaurant 7.15pm and was unable to get a good spot for the fireworks show which was the whole purpose of the visit.

I can understand it was a busy night but just be a bit more attentive and update the customer even if busy or the food order had been forgotten?

Very very cramped

Too many tables downstairs

Should also provide the right size shirts for your staff who are blessed with larger busts

After a recent visit to the Frankie & Bennies in Gunwharf Quays, I felt I had to write and tell you of my experience.



After more than 15 years of F&B’s Gunwharf Quays being my go to restaurant of choice I no longer feel that way. The new decor makes it feel less of a restaurant and more like a canteen, whoever thought it was a good idea to paint a brick wall between the restaurant and kitchen white, needs some help.



I loved the whole feel of the restaurant before, from the old black and white photographs on the wall to the restaurant playing the sort of music my dad liked to listen to. I had to put up with Hanson and Mmmmmbop on my last visit, #WHY!





My family and I have had many good nights in this restaurant both as a group and just me and my wife and I was ok paying £14 for a New York BBQ chicken because it was always a good night out but I won’t pay that price when I feel like I’m in a canteen.





Thanks for 15 fantastic years of eating out but now it’s time to say goodbye.





When things breakdown one person usually says it’s not you it’s me, but on this occasion I can definitely say, It’s not me, it’s You.







PS. I haven’t written this in the hope of getting some vouchers so please don’t bother sending any.

Went here yesterday with friends and it’s was an awful experience. We waited 30 mins for our first drink. Then another 30 mins for our 2nd drink which we had to call someone over to get us one. Food took 50 mins to come out and then Our food order was wrong. They tried to give one of us garlic butter and a sauce. One got the wrong wrap. I wouldn’t go back here again now. I use to love it here but the experience yesterday was so bad and no one ever spoke to us, that it’s busy or sorry until we wanted to speak to the manager. Def won’t be returning.

We were sat in your restaurant for 25 minutes and no one even came to offer us a drink or take our order. There was 2 other tables that came in after me and was served instantly. This became so unbearable that I had to walk out without being served. I shall not be visiting your restaurant ever again!

Very poor service, waitress not really interested in serving, plates were taken before we had all finished eating. The food was absolutely shocking. I had bbq chicken and the chicken was tiny and very over cooked. A friend had the mixed grill and every item was dry. No staff available to talk to about this. Won’t be visiting again. Sort it out.

Very expensive for what you get don’t think it’s worth the money. Will not be going back

Very disappointed with the meal. My wifes sweet potato fries were burnt and tasted like they were cooked in old frying oil. Our onion rings were the same burnt and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. My burger was ok but my fries were cold. We also had flat garlic bread which tasted stale.

Poor slow service, waitress was half asleep and not concentrating at all, then was caught up down the road and told to come back due to card being declined only to find it was the signal on their machine, food is average and overpriced for what it is !
