WHAT IS FRANKINCENSE?
Omani Frankincense has been famous for centuries since ancient times. Frankincense is widely known for being one of the three gifts given to the new born Jesus by the three wise men. Frankincense is one of the worlds most cherished commodities, is 100% pure and 100% organic, it provides one of the most evocative scents, with fruity, fresh, sweet bouquets with woody undertones. Used since ancient times for meditation, prayer and to enhance spirituality. It is produced from the genus Boswellia tree. It is collected by tapping the tree and extracting the milky sap which hardens on exposure to air and forms droplets or tears. Frankincense comes in many types, and its quality is based on colour, purity, aroma, age and shape. Silver and Hojari are considered to be the highest grades of Frankincense. My Frankincense is from the Dhofar region of Oman and is regarding as being the finest quality in the world.
