Went to celebrate my mams 70th birthday 11 of us went in total the food was outstanding service excellent staff went out of their way to help in anything we needed cost of evening was less than expected for the value we got

User

We have always had a good meal at Frederick's, can really recommend the hot dipping platter to share. Three of us called in yesterday afternoon. Shared garlic flat bread with cheese which was delicious. Fillet steak which was cooked perfectly, tapas of garlic mushrooms, Italian chicken, haddock gougeons, prawn and avocado in mild creamy curry, and fries. Very tasty and piping hot. As I was driving I tried one of the mocktails (a fruit burst) which was delicious. The staff are always attentive and friendly. The place has a great buzz at weekends!

User

We booked the table for 4pm. We had a sharing platter for starters and tapas for mains and we had a sweet. The food was amazing. Great service and lovely cocktails. They didn't rush us but were attentative. Full marks. I would recommend them and will be going back again

We are out for a family night mid week me my hubby and two boys, hadn't planned to go here. My hubby and myself called in for a dink and decided to stay and asked the boys to come over. Had read reviews and we're unsure but know most places in town hadn't been here so decided to stay. The boys ordered pizza and they said 'i haven't had pizza like that since Italy mam", we had fillet steak it comes with the sauce which is great. In total 4 mains bottle of wine 2 deserts and a few cokes £114 about right for a treat night out. Staff wise our waiter and other staff were lovey, there is one guy behind the bar who is quite arrogant. We nearly didn't stay for a meal as he needs to learn some manners, but pleased we did.

User

Visited last Saturday had speedy service all staff were friendly. There were six of us and all loved the food. I particularly liked the cold meat sharing platter everything was fresh & very tasty.

User

Out with the girls, had a good time last night, great food and staff

User

Lovely staff, fabulous food and beautiful restaurant.

User

I visited last night with a friend & we hadn't booked a table. When we arrived the place was full however we were greeted & it was explained exactly how long a table would be, what time our order could be taken & how long food would be. We agreed to wait & within minutes we were given a table. The staff are always very helpful, friendly & approachable. They are open to suggestions and ask for feedback.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere & champagne which was already chilled!

I have visited previously with friends, family & my partner & I will certainly be visiting again.

This is certainly a must place to visit while in the area & it's exactly what we need more off!

Thank you for your hospitality.

User

Gorgeous meal and really good service. Definitely recommend.

User

Go here roughly every other week sometimes once a week, amazing surroundings, friendly staff and food and drinks always on point.

User

Fab food good service...will go back

User

What we had was lovely , nothing really stood out on the menu so went for tapas, the sticky pork curry was lovely could hv ate two bowls of this instead of the Chicken and green pepper kebab didn't enjoy the peanut topping it had . Pudding was lovley to well presented and the staff were very etentive.

User

We and 2 other couples went last night and I can say the meals were lovely. 3 had burgers which had big thick burgers, I had pasta with spicy meatballs, peppers and chorizo and the other 2 had lasagne and tapas. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only reason it's got 4* is they maybe need to a re-run of cocktail making @ £6 a cocktail I want a full measure of each spirit. Deffo go again.

User

Popped in here for a quick meal prior to an event at The Kirkgate - so it was early evening and reasonably quiet. Staff were attentive, menu was very good! We thoroughly enjoyed our food - and my glass of wine was also excellent, well chilled and nice wine. We'll call back some time for a more leisurely meal - hoping that piano is out to some use too!!!

If I was rating Fredricks on the food only, it would be a 5. If you want nice food and enjoy a contemporary eating environment then Fredricks is the place to go. The reason I have rated Fredricks a 4 is simply down to one member of staffs attitude toward other member of staff. From his interaction with his colleagues, I'm going to say he was senior that evening. His attitude toward a very pleasent blonde girl was terrible and made our table of 5 cringe at the way he spoke to her. He was so over powering and demeaning to her, that I had to say something to her. She did a fantastic job at our table and informed me she was fairly new to Fredricks, I sympathised with her for having to work with that 'gentleman". If she was doing something wrong, or not to his or Fredricks standards; I'd expect her to be told. There is a time and a place for this, and in a restaurant full of guests is not the place. We then continued to pay for our food at the bar, a grand total of £125 off... which we happy with considering the ladies had wine. The "senior" member of staff took payment from 3 of us no problem, and then on taking the final payment from the couple the phone rang. He answered it midpayment, taking a payment card with him. A young gentleman then came to finalise the payment and was brilliant with us.

To summarise: great food, great atmosphere, good prices and mostly brilliant staff. Above all, we and will return. Thank you

User

Sorry I normally like it in here but the service in there tonight was absolutely terrible we were a party of four adults and four kids the staff didn’t even come over and ask if we wanted menus for food we had to ask for them when they brought our drinks we finally ordered food we had another long wait before the food came out and we are still waiting for the ice cream that was meant to come out with my sons child’s meal. Just not acceptable I’m afraid

User

Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. On a short break and were looking for a nice restaurant. Fredericks already caught our eye driving past during the day, so thought we would try it out for our evening meal. Staff was friendly but felt like they weren't really interested. It wasn't busy at all, only 3 tables including ours. Menu looked inviting, we ordered a dipping platter to share which sounded amazing. The squid was a real let down. And the rest on the platter just tasted and looked like it was bought in a well known frozen foodstore and was luke warm. My husband's main was tasteless and just thrown together (chicken jalfrezi) no presentation on a plate, my main (steak burger) was again luke warm. We did mention it to the waiter who collected our dishes and to be fair, my husband's main got knocked off the bill. We didn't ask for this, so we thought this was a nice gesture. All in all, the place looks stunning but the food was a let down, for the prices on the menu we were expecting a more detailed service and top notch. Sadly it was no better than standard pub grub.

User

Organised to go for a meal for a friends birthday. Being one of those annoying people with food issues, I phoned several times prior to the meal to ensure they could cater. Was assured repeatedly that they could. Guess what, they couldn't. Not only that but despite the heads up, no attempt had been made to amend recipes or make provision. Unfortunately for me, it's a food intolerance that makes me violently ill.Add to that the appalling service and terrible attitude of the staff, I won't ever be going there for food again.

Sorry Fredericks, the cocktails may be acceptable but it's an epic fail on the food front and customer service.

User

I went last night with a group of 23 for our works Christmas party. The booking had been made months earlier. When we arrived we were told we had roughly one hour to eat a three course meal as the table was booked for another party after us. The food we revived was mediocre and before we knew it we heard the waiters telling another group that we would have to go soon. We had a party of people looking at us so we had to move on. There was no seats around the bar or anywhere else so I went home. This meal was £28/a head, I believe we had booked the back room but were put near the door. To say I was disappointed with Fredrick's is an understatement. This was pure greed on their part and I will not return. Rubbish.
