We are very pleased to announce that Tibetan activist, writer and poet Tenzin Tsundue is flying over from Dharamsala to join us for London Tibetfest 2018!
He won the first-ever Outlook-Picador Award for Non-Fiction in 2001 and has published four books to date.
He is also known for his bold activism work and caught international media attention in 2002 when he climbed a scaffolding outside the hotel of the Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji in Mumbai - displaying a banner with the wor...ds ""Free Tibet: China, Get Out" and a Tibetan flag while shouting pro-Tibetan slogans before being arrested by Indian police.
He will be reading poetry from his book "Kora" and speaking about his life and work. This is a session not to be missed!

RESULT! Liverpool FC has dropped its controversial sponsorship deal with Chinese company, Tibet Water!
In 2017 Liverpool FC signed an agreement with Tibet Water - a company that exploits the military occupation of Tibet to bottle and sell its water. We, and you, were outraged.
Over 86,000 of you signed our petition in partnership with SumOfUs. Another 4,000 of you sent emails directly to the club's owner, asking him to drop the deal.
... With your help, we pushed back against this dangerous deal and ultimately convinced the club not to renew it.
A huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you who got involved. This is a victory we can all share.

Join us for London Tibetfest! Over the course of the day, the Tashi Lhunpo monks will be building a sacred sand mandala. Of all the artistic traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, that of painting with coloured sand ranks as one of the most unique and exquisite. In Tibet this art is called dul-tson-kyil-khor, which literally means “mandala of coloured powders.” Millions of grains of sand are painstakingly laid into place on a flat platform over a period of hours, days, or sometimes ...weeks.
Once the mandala has been completed the healing process is fulfilled when the sand is swept away. Half is distributed to the audience at the closing ceremony, while the remainder is carried to a nearby body of moving water, where it is deposited. The waters then carry the healing blessing to the ocean, and from there it spreads throughout the world for planetary healing.
The sweeping away of the mandala also stands as a metaphor of impermanence, key to the Buddhist teaching and practice.

A group of Tibetan refugees have arrived in Dharamsala after escaping across the border.
Though they hail from different areas of Tibet, they all tell a similar story of the difficulties living under the repressive Chinese regime.

Thanks to Hong Kong Free Press HKFP for partnering with us to publish this piece today, on International Day of the Disappeared.
Tashi Wangchuk, like many other Tibetans, was snatched by authorities and held in secret. His family were not even told that he had been taken. For them, he simply vanished.
It was not until several months later that they learned he had been detained. His crime? Promoting the use of the Tibetan language.
... He has now been sentenced to five years in prison after a secret trial.
We must end forced disappearances.

Beijing has missed an opportunity to correct a serious injustice.
Instead they’ve made it blatantly clear that they will use the language of national security to suppress any activity they dislike.

It is the greatest irony in the history of mankind that a large number of people who have every right to become a sovereign nation state are languishing under the tyranny and oppression of the Chinese rule. The holy land of wisdom and peace which has over the ages taught the world the Buddhist philosophy of love and compassion has been turned into a painful hell by the Hun Chinese. It is shameful to see how the world's super-powers turn their blind eyes to the pangs and plight of these amazingly tolerant people who cannot take upon the violent path of armed resistance like the jihadi fighters. I stand by the cause of the rightful struggle of my Tibetan brothers against the human rights violation and the unlawful occupation of Tibetan land by the Chinese.

I'm making my own colourful free Tibet tags, bookmarks and anything else I can make both in English and Chinese as I go to Chinatown a lot. The people of China need to know the truth. Hopefully having more people protesting will somehow get more pressure on the Chinese to do something about it. Bless Tibet❤

China's treatment of Tibet and the Tibetan people is disgraceful, it is a well known fact, once again we see injustice in the world but do nothing as people fear China. We can keep raising awareness however and we can boycott Chinese goods, they are inferior & we should not rely on their rubbish. Don't trust them. Stand Up for the beautiful Tibetan people!

I pray for the day HH the Dalai Lama will be reunited with his beloved people

His understanding & compassion towards his country's aggressors is an example to the world
