Friars Description
Friars is a family business specialising in luxury chocolate and unique gifts. Since 1927 the business has evolved from a gift shop /cafe to a specialist chocolate and gift store.
Our online business was launched in 2010 and more recently we have opened a second ‘Ye Olde Friars’ high street store in Ambleside to support our flagship store in Keswick.
What make us different?
Our gifts are designed in house so you will not find them anywhere else. We want to make it easy for you to be original, so you can give gifts that taste and look amazing which will be remembered.
We love new products (perhaps because we get bored easily! ), so every Valentines, Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas we launch a new range. It certainly keeps us entertained and hopefully our customers interested.

This is the newest addition to our chocolate bar range (which we are trialling in store only). A powerful quote from an iconic woman.
We've gone all American with our chocolate bars. Maple & Bacon Pancake (somehow it works), Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich and Ice Cream Float. The best thing is that they are made in the UK....so there is none of that weird American chocolate taste going on. 🇬🇧️ 😋 🇺🇲️ https://goo.gl/cU8ZN5
You know when you have a good idea and you go a bit crazy with it..? Well, we thought it would be a good idea to have a chocolate pirate set, then someone suggested a rugby set...oh and what about the gardeners? Born in the Lake District! Love this shop spend loads in here every time I visit Keswick I love everything about this shop from there fudge , tablet right up to there jams and other spreads , have even got a list of things I'm going to order online , first place I go when I come to Keswick and hope it's always there ��

I visited de olde Friars chocolate shop 2 weeks ago and brought back a box of delicious chocolate did not las very long though could eat another box full
Hi there, I just luv ur shop. I'm from Scotland n have paid visit many times since I woz a wee girl. Woz there again on Saturday n ur Chocolate and sweeties r to die 4! Esp luv ur strawberry chocolate buttons!! Yum! Thanks so much :-) xx

Gorgeous !! I was given a selection of these as a present ... they are divine !
Fantastic service! Ordered online and got wrong item (bunnies), Michael sorted it out and I received correct item today (squirrels). Can get on with the daughters Verucca Salt costume for school Monday now! Very very grateful!!
Fab every-time, always have different types of things to get for presents � and for yourself ��
