Friends Of The Ginhouse, Bodmin

The Ginhouse was opened by Tony ‘Dick’ Gynn as a bar /restaurant in 2007 and took its name from a local band formed and named by the late Al Hodge. The walls were tailored with memorabilia from the Ginhouse band and the Al Hodge legacy. Managed by Dick and Wendy (the boss), the bar featured great live music at the weekends including performances from several named recording artists (although we never advertised, we weren’t allowed) The Ginhouse can be remembered as a warm & welcoming bar and many fun nights will be remembered. During the summer months, you would be forgiven for thinking you were in a different climate with the outside seating /drinking area. However, the decision was made to close the business and the doors finally closed on New Year’s Eve 2016. Sadly, very soon afterwards, owner /founder ‘Dick’ sadly passed away.
