About Fudge Kitchen

Devilishly different hand made fudge from www. fudgekitchen. co. uk. Like us for regular offers, news and fudge fun!

Fudge Kitchen Description

We first started making fudge in the UK, as Jim Garrahy's Fudge Kitchen, back in 1983 - but the story of fudge goes back even further. . .

Fudge originates not from Devon or Cornwall, as many people imagine, but was in fact ‘born’ at a female college in Vasser, USA.

A college lecturer was taking a class in toffee making when the temperature of the concoction was not taken high enough. The end product was called ‘fudge', which is why the term ‘fudge’ is used to indicate a mistake or error.

The US remains one of the fudge-making centres of the world. For example tiny Mackinac Island off the coast of Michigan has over fourteen fudge shops in just two streets, many dating back to the 19th Century.

The fudge we make today is inspired by this heritage. Our recipe dates back to 1830, and we still make our fudge by hand on marble slabs.

Our American-style slab fudge is made using whipping cream instead of butter, giving a creamy soft texture and distinctive flavour.

All our fudge is freshly made and sold at our shops in Bath, York, Cambridge, Canterbury, Windsor, Edinburgh and Oxford. Visit one of our shops and you can try a free sample and catch one of our unique fudge making demonstrations.

If you can't make it to a shop fear not - you can buy our fudge online and from selected stockists across the UK.

never was a fudge person until my husband and i first walked into the Fudge Kitchen in Windsor.the fudge themselves have amazing flavours, gooey-ly creamy texture, great packaging. the shop always feels like a fun adventure with its friendly atmosphere, and very efficient and knowledgeable staff. the Eton Mess fudge and Lemon Sherbet fudge are now two of my most favourite things in the world.

Went to the Bath location. Awesome place. Great staff, very friendly. The fudge is to die for. And it actually travels well. Had a few pieces in my bag for 2 days and it went in the plane home with me. Still is super tasty and fresh.

We attended a fudge experience class in January where we got the chance to see how fudge is made, learn about its history, and then make the fudge ourselves. Our guides name was Shannon and she was absolutely awesome! We had such an amazing time making fudge. The atmosphere here is wonderful, the staff is very friendly and they all have a great sense of Humor. Matthew the manger is wonderful too!! If I'm ever back in the area, I would make it a priority to go back to The Fudge Kitchen, and I highly recommend you do too! You will for sure have a "devilishly different" and their fudge taste phenomenal. The dark chocolate sea salt was my personal favorite! Yum!

Friendly staff and excellent variety of fudge we purchased to take home. Very nice and didn't last long! Worth sampling to find out which flavours are your favourites.

User

Visited the fudge kitchen in Bath at the weekend and we were greeted with such a warm and friendly welcome! They offered to let us try samples of whichever fudge we wanted. We could see the fudge being made and it was just fantastic. Now for the fudge itself it was honestly the BEST fudge I’ve ever tasted. Delicious and mouthwatering

User

Two friendly guys served me with the best salted caramel fudge at The Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC on Thursday 14th June. Fab and funny guys and great fudge, thank you! :)

User

The dairy free salted caramel fudge is so delicious! I'll have to pop to York more often and indulge in this scrumptious fudge.

User

Pure heaven! Bought a six pack in Windsor, the pack survived the flight back to Slovakia and tommorrow I am going to make you famous among my colleagues. I have saved a half for worse times, put it into the freezer, but I do not think it will stay there for longer than a month. The one with dark chocolate rules big time! And the selling and presenting staff in Windsor - they were just perfect!

User

Omg, I tasted your Fudge at The Devon County Show over the Weekend, Gentleman was so helpful letting us try any flavour we wanted , I ended up buying 4 slices on the Friday and 6 slices on the Saturday, Coffee and White chocolate and Raspberry the best by far... never tasted Fudge like it before ...

User

Omg! Literally ate an actual slice of heaven today, after stumbling across The Fudge Kitchen on a trip to Windsor today! There was a lovely guy standing outside with a “free fudge” sign (a good looking guy offering free sweet things - very, very clever marketing strategy! ), he overheard me saying “oh well I can’t have any because it won’t be dairy free” and he quickly corrected me! DAIRY FREE FUDGE omg! And it was soooooo yummy! 3 dairy free flavours to choose from, he let me try them, after a tough decision, I purchased a slice of a super duper amazing chocolatey one. It’s been years since I’ve been able to eat fudge (had to go dairy free due to my daughters allergies) and well what can I say, this was definitely worth the wait! Also, extra points for the staff, very friendly and helpful, the girl working was also dairy free, so it was nice to have common ground there! And the guy that served me was just lovely!

Thanks guys - you made this dairy free mama very, very happy today!

User

User

Hi

I bought the most creamiest and amazing Belgian chocolate fudge from your Windsor shop today. It looks hard from outside but it surely melts in the mouth. Truly wonderful

User

Had my first ever visit to Fudge Kitchen yesterday whilst spending a lovely afternoon in York. I have tried some of their products before in my regular box subscription with another company and all were yummy.

The guys on the counter were lovely and friendly and clearly enjoying what they do despite it being very cold and very busy.

After sampling the Christmas Pudding Fudge I left with a lovely big chunk to erm "share" at home (I'm not sharing!) and it is stunning! I can't think of any better way to describe it than its like eating Christmas itself.

Can't wait for my next visit.
