Fullhurst Community College

About Fullhurst Community College

An 11-16 community college situated in the west of Leicester city serving a culturally diverse catchment area.

Fullhurst Community College Description

Fullhurst opened in 1991 following the closure of King Richard III School and Newarke School. It was initially located on the King Richard site while a significant refurbishment of the Newarke site took place, and moved into the Newarke buildings in 1992. More recently, the college benefited from £12 Million investment through the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. Under this programme, Fullhurst retained its iconic 1930's red brick façade and clock tower, and combined them with a new glass façade and 21st century facilities to create an innovative and inspiring educational environment. The new building became fully operational in August 2009 and contains some of the very best facilities in the city, with specialist facilities and resources for science, IT, dance, drama, sport and technology.
