England’s #Lionesses had a great start to their World Cup campaign yesterday with a 2-1 win against Scotland!
If any of the children would like to join us in supporting them on Friday 14th June by wearing their football shirts, they are more than welcome to! (All shirts are welcome!)

**Around the World**
This week the children have enjoyed learning all about our world and the different countries and cultures in it. This included lots of different activities throughout the week as well as tasting food from different countries each day for our snack!

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our coffee morning today, we have raised a total of £150.60! As well as this, we raised £84 from our Easter raffle last week!
As it is the end of the term, we would also like to congratulate Sharon on winning this term’s Employee of the Term award! This is well deserved with lots of fantastic comments on the voting cards!
Finally, we would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter from all the staff at Funtime and we look fo...rward to welcoming you back on Monday 29th April.

**Don’t Forget!**
There’s just 4 days left until our Easter Coffee Morning here at Funtime! Join us on Friday 12th April at 9am to end the term on a high with drinks and plenty of cake! There will also be cakes available to buy for you to take away and enjoy at home!

We are proud to support the health and well-being of all children that come through our setting and are very happy to have once again been recognised for this.
We would like to thank all staff for putting in the extra hours to complete the portfolio needed to send to the accreditation panel; all of that hard work has paid off!

BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK
In today’s experiment we looked at reactions by making a foam volcano with Mentos and Cola!
The children loved watching the foam shoot out of the bottle (and the wind nearly making the teacher get covered in it!). It was a fantastic and fun way to end our science week.

In Thursday’s experiment we looked at layering liquids!
... The children enjoyed helping to pour the different liquids and watching them layer up. They especially enjoyed watching the bubbles of coloured water move through the oil!

In Wednesday’s experiment we looked at separating inks using felt tips and coffee filters!
... The children enjoyed watching the water make the ink spread and separate into the different colours which make up the colour of the felt tip!

In today’s experiment we looked at acids and bases by mixing different substances with an indicator which we made from red cabbage!
The children loved looking at the changes in colour of the liquid in each bowl and asked lots of questions to experiment with mixing the colours together!

BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK
This week is British Science Week so here at Funtime, we’re celebrating all things science!
We have our Space Station small world set up for the children to explore the Solar System, and our Very Hungry Caterpillar story set out to look at life cycles!
... We will also be doing a science experiment every day this week so make sure to ask your child all about the exciting things they are doing at pre-school!
Also, look out for the science experiment sheets which we are sending out for every child this week with simple experiments to do at home with your children. We’d love to hear how they go!
