Welcome to Mattress Mountain!
One of the most common items the Bulky Matters, and Furniture Matters services collect are mattresses, until recently this kind of waste used to end up being buried in a landfill site, at a huge cost to the taxpayer and environment. In 2019 we collected, recycled or reused more mattresses than ever - over 4500 in total, thats more than 200 tons of them.
... If you were to lay them flat and stack them, one on top of the other into a giant wobbily mattress mountain, they would stand higher than Scafell Pike - the highest mountain in england at 3700ft.
