"Many of my wonderful staff post things and write amazing articles to support families. However, sometimes I think I should say a few words regarding Future Steps and our journey. Many will know I started FS to create something wonderful for children and families. When I started I had a great deal of support from amazing people; one of which was my best friend Carolyn, and thanks to Carolyn I found belief in people and followed m...y dream of Future Steps. Carolyn sadly passed away in March, so it has been a difficult few months for everyone. However, brave as ever Carolyn was able in her last week of life to discuss this award and what it would provide to children, families and education. Therefore, I am honoured that Carolyn and her amazing family have allowed FS the opportunity to create the Carolyn McTimoney Scholarship award; free Occupational Therapy to children for a year. This award goes to Reid Street School and was given on Thursday, by myself and board members. I would like to thank everyone concerned that has helped us to achieve this, and Carolyn for saying YES. I hope I will never let my friend down and we achieve everything she would have hoped for; allowing children to reach their potential. You will forever leave footsteps Carolyn in my heart, I hope this Scholarship does the same for all the children, staff and families of Reid Street School this year."
The Northern Echo kindly supported us in ensuring that Carolyn’s Legacy is known throughout Darlington and County Durham and have published an article about the scholarship in today's paper, found on page 44.

Myself and Paul can't thank the amazing staff at future steps. Billy is doing fantastic since finding out he has spd and knowing how to deal with it. For 7years we have been passed from one place to another within 15mins we were told he had sign of spd which was a massive weight of our shoulders knowing he would get the help and support he needed. Julie your team are amazing the girls and James always make you feel.welcome when in the clinic. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx

Just fantastic. Jon-Paul loved the summer sessions so much he wants me to sign him up for every week next time! Great facilities, wonderful staff, I'm absolutely thrilled by their work and efforts this past week, we will be back!
