What a little gem of a place... We will be having a return visit :)

We as part of our annual trip to Liverpool decided to take the ferry across the mersey and called in here for a drink. What a fabulous place and made to feel very welcome by Paul who just retired and seemed to be extremely happy about that . Fantastic pub and one we would certainly like to revisit . The only negative thing is that Paul's an Evertonian, but you can't have everything. Julie,Neil,Krishna and Michael

Tried the food from the new kitchen was great with fast service will be going again

Stopped off after a meal in liverpool great beers and very realistic mushroom display in the window..

Lovely atmosphere, pizza fries where amazing! Great friendly service would definitely recommend and return. Loved the decor too

Had use of the upstairs room for a fundraising quiz for Merseyside. Great atmosphere and wonderful service from the staff. Icing on the cake was the pub also raised funds for the charity. PS: recommend the beer and food.

Had my hubbys retirement drink here. We had the use of the upstairs room and took over downstairs too.. cannot thank the staff enough for all the hard work as it was a busy night keeping most of merseyrail happy ....lol . I have had lots of comments today from guests on what a great place it is ..thank you Frank and sue for having us xxxx

Great pub. Beer is great, staff friendly, football on TV, live music, good atmosphere, what more can you ask for.

A shame the barbers is gone but I suppose it allows for more seating. Couple of pints of Salopian Oracle. A real gem of a pub in Birkenhead a couple of minutes walk from Hamilton Square station.

Came here on sunday just gone ,with friends who are regulars .band was superb.I was really bad with hay fever and the lovely lady who is your chef was lovely and brought me some serviettes to wipe my streaming eyes so I didn't look like alice cooper lol .I look forward to coming again even taking the long journey from woolton village liverpool .have to.try the food next time .

Booked the Spectacle Bar for our engagement party and did not regret it. The staff couldn't do enough for us. All our guests loved the venue and we had such a memorable night, very special.

Best pub on the wirral staff are all extremely polite and are always happy to help. Amazing atmosphere and original and authentic memorabilia, we take our dog and he is always very welcome great dog friendly beer garden also.

An all round fab pub!!!

Called in today as we were doing the ferry trip. Excellent pub with a wide selection of beers and a very friendly bartender. We only called in for one but ended up having two fascinating pub with all the maritime themes. Will be going back again soon.
