What can I say about Gareth! We booked him for our wedding (04/08/18) and from the word go he was fantastic! My partner is is not a natural in front of the camera and Gareth made us both feel really comfortable. He took us for lots a mini shoots so we weren't away from our guests for long periods of time. He was so friendly and approachable with everyone. We had such a laugh with him and he honestly made the day more enjoyable! Everywhere you looked he was around lying on the floor,standing on chairs doing everything he could for the perfect picture. We met Gareth when he photographed a friend's wedding back in 2016. After seeing their photos, we loved his photography style and knew we just had to hire Gareth for our own wedding. From the word go, Gareth was so helpful and responsive, he made sure he understood exactly what we wanted from our big day. On the day of the wedding, Gareth was so fantastic to work with. Extremely professional but also so friendly and up for a laugh with us at the same time, it really was the perfect balance. We had so much fun and all of our friends and family said how great he was too! The final photos are outstanding, everything we could have asked for and more! We hadn't heard of Newstead Photography until we discussed our upcoming wedding day with my sister and niece and it was them who suggested Gareth, they said he was brilliant and gave me his number, I contacted him and made an appointment to meet; from the first meeting both Kev and I knew he was the guy we wanted to capture our special day.

He arrived on our wedding day prompt and professional, he fully understood our requirements and blended in with the hustle and bustle of the day taking many pictures of family and friends as well as natural photo's which we didn't know was happening until we got the photo's, his eye for detail and capturing the perfect natural photo is an art and Gareth has got it!

Even though Gareth was there as a professional person he has a natural ability to blend in with the crowd, he is so easy to get on with and talk too & as the day progressed we all classed him a friend who was invited to our wedding as guest rather than a photographer.

His friendly approach aides his ability to organise people and make them feel at ease when having their photo taken which is a gift in itself.

There is not much more I can say other than "what an absolute gent and brilliant photographer" who captured our perfect day in the most amazing way. The quality is just fantastic and our wedding album is just sublime, it captures who we are are perfectly, we will treasure this for the rest of our lives.

We chose Gareth after finding his website online. Rikki and I wanted a photographer to capture a mix of traditional and contemporary photographs of our wedding day.



We met him for a drink and he showed us his portfolio. He was so friendly and easy to talk to, we knew Gareth was the photographer for us!



We did an engagement shoot as we were a bit apprehensive. He made us feel at ease from the beginning. Nothing was too much trouble, especially when getting that key shot. I recall him scrambling through stinging nettles in his shorts to get the right angle!



For the run up to the wedding, he was always easy to get hold of, replying an hour or so later, or later that day. He called me the evening before the wedding to run through and clarify timings and details of the day.



On the wedding day, he fitted in like one of the wedding party, often being mistaken for a guest! He had a great sense of humour, balanced with a very professional attitude. His passion for photography shines through.



It rained on our day but he had lovely ideas of how to capture us inside so we didn't feel like we missed out.



He has a natural eye for detail. He captures those natural shots, those moments when you think no-one is looking. Gareth is there for every special moment.



He is an all round professional, fun and nice guy, we are so pleased he was able to photograph our special day.

We cannot recommend this wonderful photographer enough! Seriously what a guy! We had an engagement shoot to break the ice and have some really cute pics from that. We looooove our wedding photos but even more than that it was lovely to spend time with Gareth on our wedding day having fun making photos that we will adore forever. Friends and family thought Gareth was an old friend because he is just so natural in his approach. He is not intrusive and will achieve specific looks if you want them. He started at our house and got some great shots of the ladies getting ready and stayed with us until late late in the evening.

We are so please we picked Gareth as our wedding photographer. When we first approached him, we loved his ‘can do’ attitude, his communication was great, he got back to us very quickly with any questions we had. A couple of weeks before our wedding, we met up at the venue to discuss the day. Gareth is a very warm, friendly guy, who clearly knows his stuff. We shared ideas, and we were able to say what we did and didn’t want.

On the day itself Gareth was great, he seemed to blend into the background and was not in the least bit intrusive. Thankfully he was on the ball with organising shots that we had forgotten we had requested (caught up in the moment).

When the pictures arrived, they were much more than we could have hoped for. Not sure how he managed it, but we all looked amazing. The natural shots of our guests were great, pictures of people taking selfies, people deep in conversation unaware, and the artistic ones of the tables, the decorations etc were fab, just what we wanted.

Gareth is a gem, a lovely guy who is great at what he does. Our one regret is that we didn’t book him for the whole day, due to limited finances. If we could turn back the clock on that one, we would.

If you are looking for someone who is friendly, organised and talented, Gareth is your man!

Selecting a wedding photographer was one of our most important decisions and Gareth was recommended to us. After seeing his portfolio and chatting to him on the phone, we knew we had the right guy. We were keen that the photos captured the day naturally but with a small mix of formal shots and Gareth delivered brilliantly. He even took my wedding dress for its own shoot! He put everyone at ease while taking the formal shots - no small task when some hate having their photo taken! We couldn't be happier with our photos. They are extremely high quality with a great mix of couple portraits and the natural flow of the day. It's not just us saying this - we've had so much great feedback from family and friends! I'm not sure it's possible to put in to words how pleased we were to have chosen Gareth to photograph our 'proper Yorkshire wedding'. He just completely understood the feel we were going for and, even though we've only seen a handful of photos so far, he has managed to completely capture the essence of the day. The autumnal colours, the relaxed boho vibe and the gorgeous views that we hoped for are now in beautiful photographs for us to treasure forever.



When getting ready in the morning even though he was snapping away, Gareth made me as the bride and all my bridesmaids feel so relaxed and was making us laugh throughout the day. He listened to what we wanted in our initial consultation and then he just did it! He even brought his wellies to come down to the river with us and get some gorgeous shots.



Though already true for us as we knew Gareth before booking him, it really was like spending a day with your awesome friend! This made it all the more special and personal for us which only added to the enjoyment of our day. Gareth clearly loves his job and this shines through in the photos he's taken and we are beyond excited to view the rest of them.

I found Gareth through loving some photography he had done for a friend. He did our bump to baby photoshoot and at that time when he instantly made us feel at ease, I knew I wanted him for our wedding. On Wednesday he did just the same again. Gareth is just so wonderful at what he does, I truly didn't even notice he was there. He asked the highlights I wanted to capture, I'm sure he got them and more!! I just can't wait to see them!!! I can safely say that Gareth might just be the best wedding photographer out there! He's very easy to get on with, has an extremely positive and professional approach and somehow manages to hit the nail on the head in getting exactly what you want time in and time out. We opted for an engagement shoot aswell as our wedding and I would certainly recommend this, it gave us an opportunity to get used to having our photos taken and to feel really at ease with the whole thing. Gareth was recommended to us by our wedding venue, and as soon as we saw the other weddings he'd captured, we knew we wanted him to capture our day too.

We arranged to meet Gareth at our house where he went through examples of his work and we chatted about what was important to us on our big day. He was so friendly and easy to get along with.



On the wedding day, Gareth arrived on time, introduced himself to the bridal party, and started taking photos straight away. He made our family and friends feel at ease all day, and the mix of natural and more formal shots was exactly how we wanted to remember our wedding day.

We arranged a photo booth through Gareth for our evening reception, which was fantastic and went down very well with our guests. Charlotte, the second photographer we had was brilliant, and captured some funny photo booth moments.



We also purchased the video package from Gareth. We are so glad we did, it was wonderfully put together, and brought back so many happy memories of the special day. We have watched it so many times!



We were so happy and blown away with the finished photos and video. So many people have commented that they are some of the best wedding photos they have ever seen. We can't recommend Gareth highly enough.

Gareth was recommended to us by Alison Evans Bridal. We met another photographer who offered us "mates rates" at half the cost of Gareth but we just didn't gel.

Gareth came to visit us at home and we instantly clicked and my now husband made it very clear he didn't like having his photo taken and was anti wedding photography.

A tricky challenge for Gareth!

We then had an engagement shoot at Tutbury castle in May; the month before the wedding which went surprisingly well with some great natural shots.

Fast forward a month then to our wedding day..... and Gareth was quite simply amazing. We barely noticed he was with us 10 hours and he took photos of our day from start to finish capturing every detail and emotion at several locations and the end result is just incredible. Exactly what we wanted and more.

Guests commented on the day what a great photographer Gareth was and now they have seen his work and his photos we have had nothing but amazing feedback.

From the moment we met Gareth we knew we wanted him to capture our wedding day!



From when he arrived at my mum's house he was brilliant, we were all rushing around getting ready we didn't notice he was there capturing myself and the 'bride squad' enjoying the morning of the wedding.



When we had all gathered for the wedding ceremony, once again Gareth was well blended in taking natural shots and not in your face so you couldn't tell there was even a photographer there.



As the day went on it was like Gareth was a friend you had invited to the wedding and just happened to bring his really good camera with him and really good at taking pictures, Often having natural conversations with friends and family whilst capturing the day.



Friends and family also took to Gareth very quickly and to this day still comment on what a great guy Gareth is and how brilliant he is at his job.

Being a Wedding Venue Manager I see photographers up to 2/3 times a week so I thought picking one for my wedding would be difficult- until I saw Gareth's work! I've only had one preview photo but already I know I'm going to love the rest! On the day he had everyone laughing and for two people that hate having photos taken made us feel very relaxed! Our preshoot was amazing and made us remember what we were doing this for- it didn't feel like photos being taken, just catching up with an old friend and having a laugh!
