We (me and my daughter) have been coming here for about half a year. And we absolutely love it. We’ve always been made made welcome! It’s a safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Both Maria and Jamie are fantastic with my daughter and i recommend this stable to anyone. (Even if you haven’t being riding before) The girls that work in the yard are always smiling and happy. When my little girl is old enough I know she can’t wait to go help out at the weekends!

Tried Garforth Riding School today. I have not ridden in a while; however, by the end of the first hour with Graham, I was totally in control of my fantastic horse and had successfully and confidently ridden in all three gaits. Afterwards, Graham took the time to explain to us how to untack the horse correctly, groom them, put rugs on them and feed them. What should have been an hour experience resulted in two informative, exciting and happy hours. Thank you to Graham and Maria for such a pleasurable experience. We will be seeing you (and William/Fever!) very soon.

Took my daughter for her first ever ride yesterday and on arriving she was very nervous, seeing this everyone was brilliant. They started her with grooming the pony and then a short walk down the lane to build her confidence before starting the lesson.



Maria handled the situation perfectly and we are booked in for next week. My little girl can’t wait to go riding on silky again :-)

My girls had a great time today at garforth riding school, we were made to feel very welcome, they absolutely loved spending time with the horses and cant wait to go back!

I was made very welcome today and had a great hack out on the lovely Solomon. I have already booked more time in. Would definitely recommend.

I started riding here a year ago and have been coming every weekend since. I have my lessons with Jamie who is super friendly and positive and encourages me to move out of my comfort zone. I have also had a couple of lessons with Maria who is also great, and supportive especially when you are having a bit of a nervous day! Their teaching is professional and massively fun. Definitely recommend!!

Had quite possibly the most enjoyable and informative hour long hack of my life (and I’m an experienced horse woman who has owned her own etc). I rode Fever who was an absolute pleasure in every way possible and I really formed rather a special bond. I’ve never ridden bitless before or in a western saddle but Graham briefly explained why this was the case and showed me how to adjust my legs and I can honestly say I’m a convert! Cannot recommend the place / staff / horses enough. Cannot wait to go back ASAP � thank you Graham and Maria! I cannot praise this place and its ethics enough x x x

Had my first ever riding lesson here and they were wonderful with me. Gill was my instructor and she made everything clear to me and explained perfectly to me how to control the horse and any questions I had she answered.

Had an amazing time at garforth riding school to day could not ask for better staff katie and olivia that worked with us to day were amazing and all of the staff i have met so far katie oliva and maria were very warm and welcoming really cant wait to go back even taking my soon next time thank u for an amzing time looking forward to meting all ur staff maria

Great experience - I'd never been on a horse before - they gave me lots of help so I wasn't too nervous and we had a great day out! Recommend booking a course and we'll definitely be back when we get chance. Thanks a lot!

First lesson with a lovely Scottish lady (I didn't get her name, sorry) and Olivia, put me at ease and were so knowledgable - another lesson booked already �

Brought my little girl here today for her first lesson. Got a lovely warm welcome, such friendly professional staff. Beautiful setting to learn to ride and my daughter loved her hack can’t wait to come again.

As a childminder I took some children I look after today for an hour. The lovely staff helped the children care for the horses and even feed them carrots. Wonderful staff and really accommodating for younger children. I would highly recommend to anybody hoping to give their children insight into looking after horses, thank you all for a wonderful memorable day!

Amazing! Very friendly, quiet yard with wonderful staff! Everyone was very polite and made us feel welcome. Graham made the riding experience about us and not just 'another hack'. GSR offers the ability to ride both English and Western which is unlike any other place I've come across. GSR give you the opportunity to not only ride but groom and tack up and untack your own horses adding an extra layer to the experience. Couldn't have asked for a better place to ride!

After a number of years out of the saddle I had a fab hack out today! Arrived and Maria was great , she obviously adores her horses which is amazing! Jamie was great n we had a laugh at me being a soft touch with my horse mate Ben !!

Arranged a private lesson last minute and was fitted in. Having not ridden in years enjoyed a half hour privates session (thanks Jamie). A very busy yard but welcoming, was able to wonder around with my baby and say hello to horses. looking forward to next time.

Only given 1 star because I'm unable to give it 0. Having been a regular customer for 8 months at this yard, I have always enjoyed my time with the horses and the riding instructor Graham. I overlooked the unprofessional attitude of the owner Maria and some (not all) of her staff. Shouting and swearing around children (including having public arguments with her partner) who'd come to ride the ponies and the fact that nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. Booking in for 1 hour hacks regularly turned into 3 hours as we waited for somebody to tell us what was going on or when we'd be setting off, again this was all overlooked as I became fond of the horse I rode and the rides themselves were brilliant. It now seems that the owner and one member in particular of her staff, find it acceptable to message customers on Instagram with abuse and ridiculous accusations of how both myself and my friend who I ride with are sleeping with her husband. Not only is this false but also insulting. I would not recommend anyone riding here, Maria is well known in the horse world and not for the right reasons. I only wish I'd managed to get out of the unhealthy environment sooner and leave her with her vivid imagination.
