Garganica Description

Garganica is a company based in London, but with deep roots in South Italy. We are here to share with you the full flavour of our land through the product it has been skilfully donating for generations. And we want to do it purely: with a monovariety oil. No blends. No mess.

Our extra virgin olive oil comes from ‘Gargano’, the northern part of Puglia, South Italy. This particular area has a temperate microclimate which has for centuries favoured the presence of olive groves rich and precious.
Extra virgin olive oil is high in antioxidant elements, which makes it particularly beneficial for our health. Its consumption results in a significant decrease of LDL cholesterol (also known as “bad” cholesterol) and higher levels of HDL (also referred to as “good” cholesterol) helping prevent cardiovascular disease, and control diabetes through regulation of blood sugar levels.

ONE VARIETY, ONE LOVE
In Italy there are more than 350 varieties of olives. These all have different organoleptic (sensory) properties with a specific genetic and territorial identity, which encompasses local history, culture and traditions. We have chosen to offer a mono-variety oil so that consumers can perceive and appreciate such identity and its potential in a pure and uncontaminated way.

OUR STAR: Ogliarola Garganica
Oil produced by the olive variety ‘Ogliarola Garganica’ has a sweet taste, like the climate of this land. Due to its greenish almost yellow colour, it is known as ‘the gold of Gargano’. Our oil presents a light level of fruitiness and it’s very fragrant. When tasted, the impact is soft. First you get herbaceous tones, with a velvety after taste of fresh almond, followed by a very light note of bitterness and pungency.

IN THE KITCHEN
Harmonic and versatile, this oil is perfect for those who look for a delicate dressing. It is aromatic and very tasty but without covering other ingredients’ taste. Ideal for fish and white meat, with vegetarian dishes, and especially with salads. The delicate nature of the oil makes it particularly suitable for children.

ORGANIC
We have been producing our extra virgin olive oil through organic farming for more than 25 years. No chemical treatments or pesticides are used; ecosystems and natural cycles are respected, along with the biodiversity of the area. By protecting the environment the health of both producers and consumers are thus safeguarded.
In accordance with European regulations, checks are carried out at every stage of organic chain and every operator is checked more than once per year. You can be confident that our oil has been produced in accordance with strict environmental welfare rules and that its flavor is the purest you can get from our beloved Gargano and its blessed olive trees.
