Gars Chinese Restaurant, in the heart of the famous Brighton Lanes, we offer a creative mix of modern and authentic Chinese cuisine with a sprinkling of Japanese and Thai favourites.
Gars Brighton Description
As well as our fantastic menu, with equally fantastic staff, we pride ourselves in how our restaurant looks; from polished bamboo flooring to bespoke modern silk shades, we have strived for a dining area with a contemporary oriental atmosphere.
Since opening in 1983, we have made gars Chinese restaurant something of an institution in Brighton. With its unique features and ambience, this is not what you would expect from an average Chinese restaurant. But then we work very hard to make gars not an average eatery.
Gars is arranged over three floors, with a function room and a bar downstairs, a ground-floor section of sumptuous, red-leather panelling and sexy lighting, and our first floor dining rooms.
Gars is a modern Chinese restaurant and our menu is always evolving to reflect changing tastes and new ideas. Plus, the décor of the restaurant catches the excitement and sophistication of a modern, London-style restaurant in the heart of Brighton.
While serving mainly modern Chinese cuisine, our menu also includes other favourites such as Thai green curry and Japanese dishes like salmon teriyaki. With friendly staff to guide you through all the mouth-watering dishes on offer, you won’t want to miss out on what we think, is a fabulous dining experience.

@BrightonFestival Children's Parade 2019 - Will you attend? Taking over the streets of Brighton will be folk tales from Africa, Europe, the Arctic, the Americas, Asia and Oceania, including the likes of Danish folk tale Fat Cat, How the Zebra Got His Stripes (Namibia), The Little Mermaid, The Fox in the Moon (Peru) and Alaskan tale The Salmon Princess.
Jointly produced with award-winning community arts organisation Same Sky and sponsored by the University of Brighton for the ...second year, the annual Children’s Parade will take place on Saturday 4 May 2019 to officially launch the Festival. The largest of its kind in Europe, the free event takes place in central Brighton and has delighted participants and spectators for nearly 30 years. With a different imaginative theme each year, previous parades have seen children dress up as paintings, letters of the alphabet, woodland creatures and street names.
