Where it all began 😍 We've now closed the doors for good at Gatefold Music. It's been one hell of a ride over the last few years but we're proud of what we created in Hitchin! Of course none of it would have been possible without the support of our customers, and we've been lucky to have met some truly wonderful people this last 3 years. It is with heavy hearts that we bring you the news that Gatefold Music will be closing after almost 3 years. You may be aware that we were aiming to sell the business in the hope of the shop existing for many more years, despite our personal need to relocate our family to Leeds. Music retail has always been a challenging business and currently the climate for all retailers is extremely challenging, with the competition from the excessive convenience of online shopping an unde...niable threat to high streets. This has made the dream of buying a record shop too much of a risk for those who have considered the opportunity with us over the last few months. We now need to accept that we need to move on with our lives and start to build a sustainable future for our young family. We have put absolutely everything into Gatefold over the last few years and so this has been devastating to accept, but we thank those that supported our dream and made this time so enjoyable - we've met some bloody wonderful people since starting this journey and having your support week in, week out has kept us going for so long! We can't thank you enough, you've made it all worthwhile. Over the next couple of weeks we've got a huge sale on in the shop so come and make the most of some serious bargains.
