A very successful North East Championships was held in cold but dry conditions over the weekend. Multiple medals across all age groups and events were won and some early season personal best performances recorded over the weekend. The women were out in force last night for the Gordon Smith Relays. It was a fantastic effort all round with the A team taking second place, and our very own Brigid Dennehy was the fastest senior women on the night. Well done to all and our thanks to Wallsend Harriers for putting on a great event.

With an impressive time of 15.11, Ethan McGlen claims his well deserved trophy from the London Mini Marathon.

Well he said he would do a sub 2:30 London Marathon and he absolutely smashed it with a time of 2.26.48 finishing in 38th place. What an achievement for Daniel Alexander today Huge congratulations 👏👏

LOCAL CLUBS - please share 🙏🏻 Not long left to sign up to volunteer at the World Transplant Games. If you’d like to volunteer for the 2 days of athletics at Gateshead Stadium then you can specify this on the form (22/23 Aug). There are lots of roles available and you’ll be joining the many local officials and club members who are volunteering. All athletes taking part have received transplants and it is genuinely inspiring to be part of the event. All you have to do is give up a bit of your time. It would be great to see lots of local Club members involved.
