GC Music and Collectables is a second-hand shop run old-school. Established over 10 years ago by Glenn Charman, a professional touring musician and military collector with over 30 years experience, the shop upscaled after a year and has continued to be successful ever since. Packed full of stock and brimming with helpful, free advice without gimmicks, Glenn’s breadth and depth of knowledge is huge, a great deal of the merchandise coming from his personal collection. Completely independent, the shop is unique to Taunton and a continuation of the now-legendary Tony’s Guitars, run by Tony Charman who has passed on his 13 years of experience to his son. The shop has expanded since to include Glenn’s own areas of expertise.

The shop supplies anything from WWII gas masks to Gibson Les Paul guitars. Guitar equipment arrives daily and is the focus of the business; Glenn is a professional bassist and has travelled the world with some of his stock. He supplies other instruments, drum cymbals and hardware to brass and reed instruments and component parts for string instruments. Aside from a large and respectable collection of military memorabilia from WWI to present day, Glenn has had experience running a record shop and deals with rare and collectible records and CDs. However, the shop is packed full of oddities, the philosophy being that most things brought in will be considered and all requests will either be provided for or pointed in the right direction.
