£37 995 is nowhere near what it cost to built. The engine and gearbox alone would cost £7500. then there is the £6000 paint job trim work, new interior, full strip down oh and lots and lots of man hours. Best bus around for the money. be quick.

... Someone recommended Gday Kombis to me. They had a VW van and had lite steer power steering fitted by them. I was about to spend a month in Scotland in the van and decided to have it done as well. Fantastic service! Responded quickly and fitted me in within a week. The power steering made all the difference especially getting onto and off the Orkney ferry. Without it I think I'd still be trying to get off the boat! Can't recommend them highly enough. Reliable, quick and really helpful.

Came across Gday Kombis a number of years ago after some poor experiences with a number of other well known classic VW garages on the UK scene.
I had purchased a supposed solid and reliable bus (NOT from Gday) but which turned out to have hidden rust and some serious mechanical issues. Gday took on the job, and were very clear and hones...t from day one on the size of the job and likely cost.
Billy and the team worked closely with me to provide a full restoration, from bare metal prep and welding, painting, engine and gearbox rebuild, and final assembly.
So I’ve had a lot of opportunity to assess their skills and service. What I got back was my dream Camper (See White Westy in their website) that combines classic looks, with modern upgrades to make it easier to drive and a lot more reliable.
Since the restore in last 3 years of trips to south of France and back, it has not missed a beat. Coping with 1000s of miles of long motorway journeys, and windy French roads. They service, MOT, and prepare the van every year for the summer of camping, and I don’t worry about whether it will get us there anymore.
Drives like a modern van, and just as reliable. All the way through, Billy provided support, ideas, and advice based on his long experience, and worked with me to come up with a balanced spec to manage costs and payments at each stage to spread the cost.
The final bill was fair, and reflected the time and effort that went into the restoration. I could not be happier with the result, and will continue to take my camper to Billy and Russell for servicing and work for many years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else, but why not reach out to them and see for yourself.
