Gearlink Kawasaki Team Profile

Michael de Bidaph, managing director of Gearlink Ltd, decided to sponsor an up and coming young rider, James Hillier, in the Virgin Mobile R6 Cup race. James did well and finished in fourth position overall at the end of the British Superbike season.

James was not offered a ride for the season so it was decided to set up Gearlink Racing with James as the rider and Michael as team owner and manager. James was entered in the British Supersport Cup class on a Kawasaki ZX6R. This was a new race which was primarily for teams with limited funding. The points from ten races, out of thirteen, were taken into consideration and at the end of the 2005 season James finished fourth in the Cup. Not bad going for a team who had no experience of motorcycle racing!

saw James entered into the main British Supersport Championship.

we had two riders, James Hillier and Guy Sanders whom we had known since the R6 Cup days. Things were going very well and Guy achieved an astonishing fourth place at Oulton Park. Tragedy struck on the 17th June 2007 when Guy was killed in a freak accident at Mondello Park, Southern Ireland. We are all still reeling from Guy's death and #42 will always be a part of our team.

we were delighted to be appointed as the official British Supersport entry for Kawasaki Motors UK. A complete new line up with Chris Martin and Steven Neate on board for the season. Chris finished 6th in the Championship and Steven finished 17th.

once again we were proud to be the official British Supersport entry for Kawasaki Motors UK with riders Chris Martin and Ben Wilson on board. Ben finished a brilliant 4th in the Championship, achieving our very first British Supersport win at Knockhill, Scotland. Chris had a bad accident at Brands Hatch and was out for the rest of the season. We also started off the season with Marcus Woodbine in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship. After 2 rounds it was decided that Marcus needed a little more experience so after an amicable parting we signed Jamie Hamilton from round 3 onwards. Jamie went on to win the Championship, the first for Kawasaki since 1992! How proud were we! ! !

we were proud to be the official KMUK British Supersport entry with Ben Wilson and Jesse Trayler contesting the Championship.

again we are the official KMUK British Supersport entry with Ben Wilson and Jesse Trayler contesting the British Supersport Championship. Ben finished second in the Championship.
