We're pleased to announce that Gelato in the Square is returning for 2018! We will be flying 6 Maestro Gelatieri to Leicester. They will bring their favourite ingredients with them and create fabulous gelati and sorbetti in our Gelato Laboratory. The Gelato Village cabinet will be taken over for three days from 26th to 28th October.
This year's theme is 'Gelato: a unique flavour journey'. The gelatieri will be taking this as their inspiration to craft bespoke gelato which showcase the very best ingredients. We will be putting on events to help you get involved in understanding where these fresh ingredients come from and how they come together at Gelato Village! How about combining your morning coffee with two types of gelato in an authentic affogato?
You can also choose to switch out the espresso for pure, melted chocolate, straight from our chocolate tap!

We're always learning new things here at Gelato Village! Some Chinese customers visiting this week told us that 'pistachio' translates to 'happy nut' because the shell makes it look like it's always smiling. How cute!

Baffo has had a run at Leicester Cathedral Gardens and now is at Gelato Village ready to say hello.

Baffo has decided to make an official state visit to Gelato Village this evening.
If you want to meet him, we'll be rolling out the red carpet at around 5.30pm for an hour or so. We're not expecting any protests and think this will be the best received state visit of the day.

Do you like to combine three gelati, or keep it simple with just one?
You can have any combination of up to three gelato or sorbetto at Gelato Village whatever size cup or cone you pick, because we don't do scoops!
Our serves are done by weight, using a traditional spatula.

We travelled all the way from Kempston, Bedford which is a 132 mile round trip just to try the gelato here and we were not disappointed! We both had waffles and they were delicious. The choice of flavours is great. The hot chocolate is so unbelievably sumptuous and rich, even for a chocolate lover like me! The quality of the ingredients is absolutely obvious in each mouthful of gelato. We will definitely be back again � �

Uber vegan options - I can see this becoming a late night addiction! Thank you for the yummiest chocolate ice cream experience I've had since going vegan this year! Nommy!!!! Thank you. Lovely staff too!

This place is amazing! My only niggle is that you can't get a child size cup/cone. It'd be great if you offered the option of one small portion suitable for little ones

This is my favourite place in Leicester. Everything is delicious, including the coffee which I normally neglect in favour of the amazing gelato and sorbetto. I love it when they do events and the people are always lovely.

Really enjoyed it and will be back to try some more flavours..I had the Pistachio � the Dark Chocolate and the Stracciatella... they were a real treat. So nice when people take pride in what they produce. Staff were lovely too X

I have never been and had a bad experience- always friendly staff willing to let you try the flavours before you make your choice - even when my favourites are not available there are plenty of seasonal fresh flavours to try. Always worth a trip into town for a treat for me and my boys

I come here...a lot! I've had loads of different gelato but the Mandarin and star anise is the best I've tasted. Simply stunning!

High quality gelato using the best ingredients, definitely don't mind paying for this! Really delicious flavours, and great that you're allowed to try new flavours before you buy. Been here a few times and always try something different.

Gelato Village is a sensorial experience. It's clear that all the gelato are made with genuine and natural ingredients. The various flavours are inspirational and incredible good. In addition all the gelato are made every day, to give to customers a great freshness experience. Finally, the staff is very friendly and always polite.

Always a fabulous selection of sophisticated flavours, but this weekend was a special treat. It was lovely sitting outside eating Fig, Almond and Bay ice cream (followed later by Quince and Franciacorta sparkling wine flavoured gelato...... DIVINE) and listening to so many Italian voices. Probably discussing cars and football but hey, in my mind they were talking about their passion for gelato!

Absolutely the best gelato and all things delicious Italian. BUT along with the Richard 111 flavour they now need an Alice Hawkins. There's a challenge!

Visited twice. Very nice ice cream. Second time the large waffles were lovely and ice cream scoops included were large enough to be worth the price. First visit we had a small tub and the portion size was terrible for the price, it was nice and flavoursome but we wouldn't have gone back if it wasn't for seeing someone else's waffles. Felt a bit insulted and ripped off with the empty space below the ice cream in the tub on the first visit. I would like to think it was a one off with the size of the queues, but if it was, then why us? I respect their attitude towards making quality food and the twinned toilet.
