Reminder for new Thorpe swimmers tomorrow. Please use the longsfield road entrance for the pool. There is lessons on before us so be aware of other chidren and parents in the changing room for the first session. Any problems let me know. Myself, Tee, Joe and Lillia cant wait to see you all x

I really do love my job and my team! Edward here has been swimming with us for about a year and half and has really come on. He is showing such progress esp with his backstroke. Hello Folks
I am sad to say that I have just had confirmation that Thorpe Pool will be out of action this sunday.
... Due to a fan failure the temperture is not at the correct level and there is too much condensations in the building.
This is a decision from the school, as it is not safe to start. We will have to move back a week and add on the 16th December on so no sessions are missed. Totally gutted to have have to cancel this but it is out of my control.

Welcome back folks to this terms lessons. Today starts our Monday's swimmers off at our Wentworth pool with your teacher Tamara, who likes to be called Tee. She will also be working along side me on a sunday morning at our Thorpe st andrew high school sessions.
Thought you all like to know a little bit about her.
I'm Tee, I've been teaching swimming in some capacity for 7 years, I've been a volunteer in the water, I've been an assistant and I'm now a teacher. Swimming has b...een a huge part of my life for many years as I used to compete very competitively when I was younger.

Hope all the kiddies had a good first few days back at school! Looking forward to see you all next week. Please be aware that the first 2 weeks are mainly used to assess your children's abilities and to make sure they are all in the right class. Mood is sad here today at Gems Aquastars as its the last day of the school holidays. Bonus is that we get to see all our returning kiddies and to meet the newbies next week!

Just had a knock at my door from a lovely man from St John's Ambulance. He has informed me there is an App now from St John's that you can download. What a fab idea 🤩 have a search and add it. Might be very helpful from bumps and bruises to more serious issues. X

First ever team meeting this evening with all the teaching team. I feel so lucky to have such a great team working with me. We are now all set for sept start date.

Having just done my first aid training for swimming with Living First Aid last month i was taught how to use one of these.
Fantastic video explaining how easy it is to use and how you could save a life if need be.

She's amazing. One of the best teachers in Norfolk. If your kids are fortunate enough to be taught by Gem then they will excel without a shadow of a doubt.
