About Gender Action For Peace And Security

Gender Action for Peace and Security is a UK-based expert working group of peace and development NGOs, academics and grassroots peace builders. Building on United Nations Security Council resolution 1325, on women, peace and security, GAPS promotes, facilitates and monitors the meaningful inclusion of gender perspectives in all aspects of UK policy and practice on peace and security. Members include Saferworld, Womankind Worldwide, Women for Women International UK, Amnesty International UK, Oxfam GB, IANSA, Peace Direct, CARE International UK, International Alert, Northern Ireland Women's European Platform (NIWEP), Soroptimist International, UN Association of the UK, UN Women UK National Committee, UK WILPF, and ActionAid UK. GAPS is currently running the No women, no peace. campaign, which promotes women's participation in peace and reconciliation processes.
