About Genesis Trust Bath

The Genesis Trust is a charity that offers hope, support and a future to homeless and vulnerable people in the Bath Area. We develop communities across B& NES that support and encourage people as they seek improved wellbeing and positive change. The seeds of the Genesis Trust were sown in 1990 when Gail Hodges, a Bath hairdresser, saw some homeless teenagers rummaging in a bin for food. Realising they were sleeping rough, Gail started providing them with soup each night and so started the Bath Soup Run. Since the charity was set up in 1995 our provision has expanded beyond providing food to rough sleepers. We now support individuals and families who are disadvantaged and vulnerable due to mental health issues, physical and learning disabilities, addiction, low income, homelessness and lack of a support network. Today, we deliver inter-linking projects across the city with a small team of mainly part-time staff and an amazing team of dedicated volunteers.
