So with one days notice (Olly forgot to tell Claire about signing up to the scarecrow walk that he knew about - 5 weeks ago - and was subsequently too busy to help out - get the marital gist? 🙄), we introduce to you Kevin, Stuart and Dave! 🍌🍌🍌🍌

We’ve (me and Claire) taken the kids to Cornwall for a few days holiday but have snuck in a little work related trip to Rising Ground so we can test some coffee. So as usual even though it looks like I’m off having fun I’m actually working really hard... The rest of the lads are still all go ✂️ including our new walk-in so do pop in. Maybe bring them some fruit so we know they are eating properly.

We recently read, owner of Savills Barbers (@Joth_davies via Instagram - worth a read!), post about the state of barbershops and how the lack of regulation means untrained barbers are able to trade. Did you know that despite the use of sharps and chemicals, anyone can open up a barbershop? Joth quotes, “statistically there are more barbershops opening up now than coffee shops. If you open a coffee shop you need health and hygiene certificates”. Crazy, right? Our industry ...is saturated with barbershops that don’t practise good hygiene standards, run cash only establishments, underpay their staff, avoid their tax obligations, no insurance and boldly, are jumping on the bandwagon of decent and feckin’ hardworking and honest barbershops! This really struck a chord with us as (can you tell?! 😅) and we are doing our best to fight against this trend. So why is this still happening? We can wholeheartedly assure you that to run a barbershop legitimately costs a lot of money! It means that we cannot and will not compete with the prices these barbers charge. We could bore you and talk about all the overheads such as ensuring we have a sharps disposal licence (for your safety and ours!), but then we really would be ranting. Our staff are all well trained and have served their time and we pay them to reflect that. We follow rules set way above industry that make sure hygiene, service and skill are reflected not just through a Instagram filter (which we do still love) but 24/7. We pay VAT, PAYE, Tax and insurance and run a very transparent business. I know this post is preaching to the converted because our customers rock but maybe ask your friend to double check the razor at his next visit to the barbershop. 🤙🙏

When we employ a new barber, we like to get to know them really well. So here we discover Joseph’s terrible taste in football (😉) and his love for all things Nutella!
•Where did you train to become a barber?
I originally trained at Toni & Guy - I’ve always wanted to be a barber!
... •What’s your favourite cut?
Skin fade with something longer, messier and textured on top.
•Favourite product?
I like prep products such as sea salt spray; I like to apply to the hair before drying, I feel this sets the hair in place and is just as important as the finishing products that are used on dry hair.
•Spare time?
Spending time with the family, especially my little brother who is like my twin - just 10 years younger!
•Favourite food?
Easy one, Nutella! I put it on everything! Or anything Italian.
•Football team?
Manchester is and always will be red👹
•Marmite. Love it or hate it?
Hate!
•Wine gums or fruit pastilles?
Neither! Chocolate over sweets everyday.
•Can’t live without?
Tea! At least 4 cups a day.

Was my first time in gents quarter today. I received a beard trim gift voucher for my birthday so called in to redeem it. Olly not only made my beard look awesome he also gave me some pointers on how to keep it looking fresh. First class service all the way

Visited today for my Little boys haircut. Absolutely fantastic place! The guys were lovely! I didn't get the name of the gentleman that cut his hair but a massive thank you for not only giving him a great style and making him feel like a little gent, But also for the tips to keep his hair looking perfectly styled! We'll be back in 4 weeks! many thanks again! �

Usually book in for an appointment and have never been disappointed. Called into the 'Walk-In' side of the business today on a whim and am also suitably impressed. Good set of lads who make it a pleasure to go and have your hair cut!

My son had his hair cut this week, he's not the easiest child but Olly was excellent and he had the best hair cut he's ever had

My second time at Gents Quarter, what can I say other than a quality service and really good conversation. Olly is a complete gent as took time to give me advice and listened to what i wanted. just a brilliant experience 10/10

Joe cut my little boy Tobias’ hair yesterday at the walk-in , was really good with him and made sure the cut was perfect �

I have an 18 month old son who has been in need of a good haircut for a while! However he NEVER sits still so never attempted to take him for a cut! However today I decided to pop in to Gents Quarter (walk in) and he sat still for the duration of the cut! Joe did a fab job. Very Friendly and professional! Total asset to the village of Baildon! Thanks guys :)

Highly recommended. The way a barbers should be.

Shame they don't lay on scotch eggs though, that would top it for me.
