Must admit in the past I've been disappointed but yesterday it couldn't of been better ! The food was lovely and plentiful , was busy and friendly will be going back for lunch in the future .

I absolutely love the 'George'! It is within walking distance from where I live, the food is always good and the prices very reasonable! The staff are warm and friendly and our Community is blessed with 'a Pub with a heart' Happy Christmas to all the lovely staff at the George!! See you soon������

Has really improved over the last few years and went in this weekend and the food was lovely for pub grub, the ale very clean so they obviously look after their pumps and the staff really friendly.

Brilliant pub the staff are so friendly and welcoming the waitress was brilliant the food was spot on can't fault the place 10/10

Very busy Xmas eve, but staff was on top of it and served in no time with a smile and Xmas cheer - thanks � Ale was lot better then the last time I was in here about 18 months ago

Had sharing platter food was nice � have eaten in here a few times and food always been ok

Had roast lamb for lunch, £7.79. Would give it 8 out of 10. Hot but not piping hot. Veg was carrot and peas. Would prefer cabbage, broccoli or some other fresh veg. Over

A very big pub and good service by the bar staff. With an area for eating and an area for those who just want a quiet drink. There are TV's dotted around the pub to watch live sport, with a projector screen behind the live music stage.

It was absolutely freezing in there. Couldn't get warm at all.

Food wasn’t to bad tho waited over 30 mins for it :did get offered a free drink for waiting so long

Place could do with an upgrade miss matched chairs and a very dirty carpet around table area

Disappointed, I realise its Xmas week and knew it could be a wait and normally if there is going to be a while before your food is served you are informed but this didn't happy, after waiting 40 mins I had to ask and we were served 10mins later, if I was on a lunch break from work it would have been really bad. When our food arrived my pasta was cold, very cold it was replaced but the whole experience was horrible wont come again

Bar staff are friendly enough, but order food and hit and miss doesn't come into it. 5 of us ordered, 4 were served. I eventually got cold food that had clearly been attempted to be reheated, but the microwave couldn't have been working, so whilst carrots were hot, everything else was not.



Complained about it but was met with indifference.

We ordered are food at around 19.10 are starters arrived in good time at around 19.30. But that where it all went wrong. We was waiting and watching people walk in and get served and eat there food. We was part of a big group of around 20 people everyone who was part of are group had been served and had eaten there food. We queried where are mains was to the waiter at 20.30. He went to the kitchen when he returned holding is hands to his head. He said they would be 5 minutes we waited for another 15 minutes to past and still no main course. We asked for the manager when she come over to are table 10 minutes later we explained how long we had been waiting. The manages response was well what do you want me todo about it which is totally unprofessional she then offered a free drink or deserts. But bye this point are children was getting rather bothered and it was now getting late. We asked for are money back which we did get back after another 15 minutes of waiting for are food.



I would recommend to everyone to avoid at all cost go some where that serves the same food. And better customer service.

Manager booked us months ago to play tonight. We contacted the manager today to confirm the gig because there is absolutely no promotion done by the pub on their website or Facebook. Low & behold, we are told it’s now cancelled. The manager forgot to put it in his diary apparently. If that’s true then that is just unprofessional to the extreme. Had we not checked, we normally don’t need to check confirmed gigs, we would have all turned up. We are an Essex band so it’s not like we are local.

Gone really downhill. Beer and food have changed in here. Used to be really nice. Cajun chicken pasta used to have a nice creamy sauce. Now its like plain boiled pasta and chicken with oil instead of sauce. Fish and chips burnt to a crisp on the outside but not cooked inside. After 3 bad meals decided to give it another go. Had cheeseburger and chips and it was so dry and tasteless it made it difficult to swallow. Mentioned this to the waitress who said she'd tell the chef but she was generally disinterested and didn't come back to us. Won't be eating here again
