A willingness to learn new systems in line with our requirements is essential in this role, alongside excellent communication skills, a down to earth attitude and a friendly approach.

CALLING ALL PARENTS/ TEACHERS We are pleased to host training events for dentists and hygienists/therapists throughout Cumbria. Last week we had a very interesting event with Dr Richard Welbury CBE who spoke to the group about child dental trauma and we thought it would be good to pass this on to all the parents and teachers out there.
So your child has fallen over in the playground at school and has knocked out one of their permanent front teeth. This is a scenario that pa...nics even the most calm parent. How you deal with the situation at the immediate time can make a huge difference to the outcome and the child’s appearance. Sadly too few parents and teachers know what to do.
Here is what dental experts advise:
1. TRY TO FIND THE TOOTH 2. DO NOT SCRUB THE TOOTH OR REMOVE ANY OF THE TISSUE ATTACHED 3. CLEAN DEBRIS OFF GENTLY BY RINSING IN COLD WATER OR IDEALLY THE CHILD'S SALIVA, IF YOU ARE THE PARENT USE YOUR OWN SALIVA. 4. IF YOU FEEL CONFIDENT – PLACE THE TOOTH GENTLY BUT WITH A LITTLE PRESSURE INTO THE SOCKET. CHECK IT IS THE RIGHT WAY AROUND BUT DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE ANGLE TOO MUCH 5. GO IMMEDIATELY TO A DENTIST AND INSIST ON BEING SEEN IMMEDIATELY. 6. IF YOU CAN'T PUT IT BACK INTO THE CHILD'S MOUTH, STORE IN SALIVA, MILK OR SALT WATER AND GO TO THE DENTIST IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT STORE IN A TISSUE OR ALLOW THE TOOTH TO DRY OUT.

Wow what an amazing month we have had here at Ghyllmount celebrating our 10th anniversary. Today we are remembering 75 years since D-Day. We are pleased to be supporting the Royal British Legion as our chosen charity. You have the chance to win £50 with our numbers square and we also have lots of merchandise here at the practice. As we remember 75 years we would also love to see pictures of any of your loved ones who were part of this historic day. Here are two of our D-Day veterans, first of all we have Cliff Buckle who landed on the Nan Sector of Juno beach on D-...Day. Cliff was a Sapper in Royal Engineers and landed in the assault phase of the operation. Thankfully Cliff arrived back to Bampton safely. Cliff is the uncle of our very proud Business Manager, Karon Kirkland. Our second picture is of Thomas James Henry Wain MM, corps of Royal Engineers, who fought at Monte Cassino. On Friday we ended our 10th anniversary celebrations. We started off with a team litter pick around the business park and finished off with a party to celebrate in the practice. What a fantastic time we all had it really was a great end to such a fantastic month 🎉🥳🤩

On Thursday Eleanor, Laura and Ange visited Cold Springs care home for some singing and a lovely afternoon tea. Great fun was had by all.
