Whenever we go to GianniŌĆÖs we are made to feel like one of the family. ItŌĆÖs our special place for a catch or a special occasion. Great attentive service and fantastic food! Everybody always leaves full and happy. We cannot fault this place ’┐Į

Went on the 4/2/17 for my birthday and had a fabulous meal as always, Mario even gave us complimentary drinks what an absolute star, giannis is by far the best for steaks and their lasagne rocks big time, thank you for making my birthday a good one - never disappointed

Visited Gianni's on 1.4.17 for a family get-together. We had a large party of people and the restaurant was very busy. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed, vibrant and fun. I would highly recommend Gianni's to anyone, it's well worth a visit. Thanks for making our evening so enjoyable!

This place is awesome! Food is delicious, staff are fabulous and the ambiance is just great. I could eat here every week! The most authentic Italian restaurant I have found yet in Gloucestershire!

Our first visit since the fire induced refit.

Although at first a little disappointed it didn't have the memorabilia and cosy feel of the old Gianni's, we quickly appreciated the more contemporary, airy surroundings, coupled with the customary welcome.

We were only looking for a quick lunch so we took advantage of the relatively cheap lunch time specials.

At ┬Ż6.95 for mains and side we were expecting smaller portions but no, we received full size portions of beautifully prepared pasta, resulting in us having to share a desert, the gorgeous Cannolo Siciliano, as we were so full, much to the friendly and helpful staff's amusement.

Food, service and ambience were what I expect after years of patronage and am looking forward to my next dinner there

First time back since you reopened and I really wish we hadn't left it so long. In my humble opinion still the best place to eat in Cheltenham. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Definitely won't be leaving it long before we come back!

Fantastic service and my word what a meal ! I would love to give it a rubbish review to keep it all for myself....you only get on life make sure you eat here at least once. Italian food at its finest!

Amazing food and always worth the money, given the portion size. The staff were very accommodating and gladly helped us out when booking for 10 people last night. Not to mention take our photos! One of us even got to learn Italian, so thank you ’┐Į’┐Į

I visited there last night with four old work colleagues, having previously been a couple of years ago. The food was good as before but very disappointed with being seemingly hurried through all our three courses and coffee . We were upstairs on our own and the waitress made us feel uncomfortable by hanging around continually and the manager kept appearing obviously wanting us to hurry up and go. We'd not seen one another in months and had hoped to have a relaxed meal catching up ,but this was NOT the case, they could not wait to get rid of us and we ended up leaving a lot sooner than we had all intended,before 10pm !

Food was good but service was slightly disappointing. Still tipped but the 2 male waiters were moody gave the altitude of not wanting to be there . Restaurant was lovely air conditioned

We called and made the reservation and quickly got that. When we arrived table was ready but service was slow. Ambience is good. The waiter didnŌĆÖt light candle on our table whereas it was lit on all others. Food was ok. They need to work on presentation skills. Me and my husband ordered chicken main course and both tasted the same only difference was cream. Will go again if there is no other option.

On arrival, baring in mind it was one of the coldest nights, the upstairs is where our party was ushered to. First unpleasant issue was it was very cold in there. After about 20 minutes informed staff how cold it was. A bit of effort was made but after 30 mins it seemed like they had still not turned up the heating, another prompt to see if they could and an effort was made. Another party came in and almost immediately they too complained about the how cold it was. After a while the temp did start to feel warm. This should of been done before any customers arrived. As for the food...... well it was alright, not worth the money I paid for the meal. My 2nd meal ever in a Cheltenham restaurant was not memorable, and as for the restaurant. I would not use it or recommend it to family or friends.

Giannis was always my favourite restaurant. I hadn't been in here since it reopened and I am disappointed to say it wasn't quite the same when I visited for lunch today. When I arrived just after 12 for the lunchtime period the staff were still cleaning and there was a strong smell of disinfectant which was quite off putting. The waitres who served us was quite disinterested. Small things like having to ask for Parmesan to be brought over for our meals when you would usually expect it to be offered automatically in any Italian restaurant. The meal didn't seem quite as tasty as usual either. I miss the old fashioned, authentic Italian decor too ­¤śéNice enough all in all but I won't be going back in a hurry unfortunately Ōś╣’ĖÅ

By far better than the chains like Ask or Zizzis but I wasn't overly impressed as a Giannis virgin. I ordered a chargrilled sirloin which was beautifully tender but the chargrilled effect added a burnt bitterness. Would have been better if that hadn't happened as despite the inside being cooked beautifully the charred outside made it taste like an overdone steak. Others with me had incredible meals however and friendly staff mean that it still gets 3 out of 5. My partner and I probably won't go back just because we cook a lot of Italian at home and I can cook a far superior steak for less money. Expect mains in the 12-20 quid mark. I guess average pricing for a more authentic Italian but not if you want steak.

Had a large party of 23 booked for a special occasion. Food was lovely however service wasn't great. Especially off the manager-not very welcoming or helpful as noted by quite a few of our party, thankfully it didn't ruin it for the mum to be. Wouldn't return.

Food was good but service and ambience were awful. Got repeatedly ignored by our waiter when trying to order more drinks, asking about the status of our food (50 minutes between starters and mains) and asking for the bill. It was due to the long wait that we didnŌĆÖt order dessert (we werenŌĆÖt even offered the dessert menu). Very disappointing.

Went there last night as a group of 6, none of us will be going back there any time soon. The food was of a good standard, the waiting staff, including what i am presuming was the manager were terrible, amongst the worst i've ever come across. They were slow, rude, seemed confused at every small request and when my fianc├©s dad attempted to say something about it to the manager, the manager started to mock him. Mcdonalds has better service.

Went out for my mum's 75th birthday, food was good, unfortunately my Father had a somewhat under par Fillet steak and when he complained the loud mouthed bully of a chef came out and argued that the steak was perfect and that there was nothing wrong with it, as did the maitre d. Absolutely appalling behaviour. The chef was nothing but a boorish idiot who knows nothing about how to speak to people let alone customers. Will never return and will do my utmost to let everyone know how appalling they treat their customers. Am considering going to the local paper as well.
