Gilli'S Gin Tin Description
It has long been said that when God was handing out Chins, Gilli thought he had said ‘Gins’ and asked for a double!
GIlli always had a bottle of Gin next to the kettle. In fact I was always curious as to why the gin was far closer to the kettle than any mug, teapot or teabag. Gilli is by no means an alcoholic but a good gin and tonic is one of her life’s passions.
Her gin of choice for years was either Gordons or Bombay Sapphire and these were the brands commonly found frequenting the space next to the kettle. In fact despite not appearing on our menu, this is why you will find a bottle of each next to a kettle on the Gilli’s Gin Tin Bar.
However, this brand choice changed on Gilli’s 60th Birthday in August 2013 when she was treated to a trip to the Feather’s in Woodstock, which at the time boosted the world record for the number of gin’s at any one bar.
Gilli vowed to never drink a ‘normal’ gin ever again and collecting gin became a hobby. New brands, new botanicals, new infusions, gins from all around the world. At the time of writing Gilli owned over 50 gins with the collection growing.
Gilli is the inspiration behind this bar. In fact Gilli is the inspiration behind our business and the most important wonan in our life: always on hand to offer advice, guidance, love and support.
Gilli is better know to me as ‘Mum’ . Therefore the strapline behind everything we do is: #lovemumlovegin

We are back in Scarborough this weekend, and back for the second year running at the bigger and better, Scarborough Food and Drink Festival.

Gilli's Gin cant wait to be back in Scarborough this weekend for the finish of stage three of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire.

Gillis Gin Tin will be on ELVINGTON VILLAGE GREEN this Thursday from 11.30am-6pm for the first stage of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire.
It will be the first outing with our BRAND new menu which includes 45 fabulous gins of which 30 are from YORKSHIRE.
There will be food, drink and entertainment all day before the race caravan stops in the village for 30 minutes at approximately 3.30pm.
... The race is due to go through Elvington around 4.30pm and can be seen on a giant screen all day.

Today we’re enjoying a lovely day out in the North Yorkshire coastal town of Whitby.
This included a quick stop off at The Lickerish Tooth Ltd to pick up some Ginger Ninga and Sheep’s Eye Gin.
They will be two of the THIRTY yorkshire gins that will be available from Gilli’s Gin Tin this summer.

Gilli’s Gin Tin is today celebrating her second birthday!
We can’t believe two years have passed since unveiling our beautiful horse box at the stunning Aldby Park in Buttercrambe.
... Since then she has attended many great weddings, food festivals, parties, events, rose to fame with a national TV appearance and had a big sister!!
