We went today for our wedding anniversary treat, the building was amazing, staff very friendly and helpful, delicious food and yummy cocktail , topped off with a great view from our table and a special surprise anniversary pudding to finish which made us feel really special thank you , we will definitely be returning!

We came to Gillrays to celebrate my husbands birthday. We started in the Bar - loved the G&Ts. We opt for the Meat Feast and it was divine! Tuna salad was so fresh. The staff were very attentive and even gave a complimentary birthday cake for my hubby! The birthday boy was so happy and all of us were really impressed! We will definitely come back!

We came here for a friend's birthday and we enjoyed every minute. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant entrance the service was faultless, we were asked how we were and whether it was an occasion and then taken to our table. Our waiter was Great, very friendly lad who took us through the menu options. We opted for a set dinner and cocktail which we pre booked. I had the butternut salad and the other half had the mackerel for starters, both dishes came out well presented and tasted delicious. For the mains we both had the steak with red wine sauce and sides of mushrooms. The steak melted, the sauce was fantastic and we enjoyed every mouthful. Desert did not disappoint either, it was presented perfectly and I could only admire the skill that went into it's creation, I had the chocolate mouse which was small individual chocolates with different bases, cream, finished off with tiny chocolate bubbles and decorated with gold leaf. It was a fantastic evening and the service was excellent, they even brought a cake on a plate with happy birthday written on it for our friend topped with a candle. We will definitely be coming back the next time we're in town, I can't recommend it any higher ! Enjoy.

The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the wine was to die for.

I have been in there last Saturday night with my friends to celebrate a special occasion. Already impressed with my few visits at the bar, I decided to give a chance to the restaurant and it was worth it. Great food from the starters until the dessert, sure about the quality of the meat, main courses were stunning but it wasn’t the real crown jewel of their menu: I couldn’t stop to eat the tartare and the cheese platter, a perfect combination of flavours and contrast. All of this could be enough for a perfect night, but the flawless service of our Spanish waitress Mai and the manager Tyrell with their knowledge and warmth impressed my guest and we cannot wait to come back

Great place, fantastic food and wonderful staff. We had a great celebration on our 5th anniversary.

Beautiful place, Chandeliers and leather sofas.

The service was impeccable, from our arrival to leaving.

A couple of days ago we dined with some friends at Gillray’s, and upon arrival we indulged in a G&T in the sumptuous bar: but first things first, let me start from the very beginning! The Gillray's is just the little cherry jelly on the top of the cake, the well kept secret crown jewel let’s say.



Coming in through the Marriott’s main entrance, you feel dragged into a dream, almost like in movies, with attentive and welcoming service all the way through: after all, being a stone throw away from House of Parliament, the Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, how could you expect anything else?



Walking through the corridors of this magnificent palace, people’s mind and imagination are dragged into a journey of past glory and spectacular guests, thanks to fine details and welcoming smiles. I will surely come back for the afternoon tea, as a sneak peek into the room truly made me desire to stop by.



Anyway, back to Gillray’s: I consider myself a fine gin lover, but if in doubt, trust the knowledgable staff, like Cosim, who will guide your choice r fledging your preferences! Gin Mare a new favourite I’d say! BRILLIANT!



And now, into the grand finale: THE DINNER! This fine dining steakhouse is led with elegance and kindness and the whole service felt flawless and gracious: the presence of the Maitre on the floor was discrete and yet positively felt by both staff and diners, touching most of the table and ensuring everyone was having a great night.

I started off as per Mai’s recommendation, with the steak tartare, beautifully presented with abundance of capers and a delicate egg yolk: it couldn’t have gone any better after this!



And I was proven right: the mighty bull’s head made is way onto the table: for the love of steak, that’s the sharing you want to go for! It simply melts it’s way to your heart! The New Zealand Pinot noir was the perfect partner for such a succulent cut of meat, and if you feel January has been tough enough, then indulged into the game terrine as a middle course as we did, and share the British cheese board with its vibrant flavours!



I shall definitely return, bearing in mind to leave space for dessert! The location is outstanding, and all in all the price wasn’t crazy, perfectly mirroring the quality of the service and ingredients alike!



Next visit? Sooner rather than later: we might have found an all time new favourite!

Went with friends for the Sunday roast, we had drinks in bar first which was lovely, staff were attentive, but food took a long time to arrive. It was worth the wait, the beef was beautiful and lovely selection of vegetables, however the very large Yorkshire puddings look great but were very dried out and almost inedible which was a shame. Lovely location and views of the river at Westminster but quite pricey especially drinks.

Wonderful views of the Thames, the London eye and Westminster. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We had the market menu which was good and a fair price, my steak was nice but nothing special, the a la carte menu was very expensive £16 for a starter! Drinks were very overpriced £15 for a vodka & lemonade. We had a lovely evening but was it worth £175 per couple - probably not - had a lot better meals for around £100

We were going to the theatre and decided to have a pre-theatre dinner. Staff were great and location was lovely over looking the Thames.

Starters were amazing, flavour great.

However we waited a very long time for our main and when it came it was cold. As it took so long I didn’t complain because of getting to the theatre and the flavour was great. However one of my friends did send his back and they did change it no problem..... forgot to also give fresh sides though.

May give them another chance but will not except cold food again!!

We booked a table for 8 pm but didn’t eat until 10 pm and when food arrived it was the wrong order. We then had to wait another 15minutes for the correct order. We were due to have a 3 course meal but left after the main course as it was so late. Extremely poor service. Would not go here again.

Service was spectacular. Ambiance, stunning. Food, not great. Our large group had a lot of items from the menu and I didn’t mind the long service, that happens. But, the steaks were all very tough and underwhelming. Deserts were lovely and the drinks were great. But the main courses were lacking in flavor across the board.

Our group of 9 had pre booked a table for a pre theatre lunch. Never again! The service was woefully slow. It took an hour to get our starters. Most of us had ordered cold starters so couldn't understand why it took so long. We were the only people in the restaurant so couldn't understand the delay either. Paying the bill was also a fiasco. A computer crash and confusion about what, as individuals, we were paying for led to another delay. Most of us got to the theatre before the doors were firmly closed. It was a very disappointing and stressful experience which I will not repeat any time soon.

Hotel quality. Staff is interested only until order is taken. We waited 40 minutes and one steak came out rarer than ordered. We had seen no staff to complain to. It was remedied to our satisfaction but would not go back and not recommend.

Food was cold and had to send back, having had to wait nearly and hour between starters and mains, meat was tough and struggled to chew - brought it home for the dog! Had the set price pre theatre menu but then had to pay for sides. Not a good experience overall other than the location and our waitress who was charming. If you are going to be a steak restaurant you need to at a minimum do good steak!
