We know that dealing with the loss of a beloved friend is something none of us want to consider, however, we want to let everyone know that we're here with you at this difficult time. Rachel and Amy have made these beautiful keepsakes to help remember your companion. This is an environmentally friendly idea that consists of a lock of fur placed in a recycled vial. We are offering these free of charge upon request.
If you are finding it too difficult to cope with the loss of... a pet, the Blue Cross helpline is available. Ring free on 0800 096 6606 to speak to a trained professional or email pbssmail@bluecross.org.uk (they can typically take up to 48hours to email back). Thank you ‚̧ԳŹūüĆą

With Easter just around the corner many people are thinking about gifts! ūü•öūüźį
A bunny is a 10 year commitment, not a toy. They will become a member of the family when you bring them home ūüĎ®‚ÄćūüĎ©‚ÄćūüĎß‚Äćūü϶ūüźáūüíē They take alot of looking after and the adult in the household is responsible for this, not the child!... Bunnies need a bunny companion as they are very social animals! They also need annual vaccinations, a loving and stimulating environment and a healthy diet. ūü•ē If you don't feel that you can commit to this long term responsibility then please get a chocolate one instead ūüćęūüėčūü§§

All of us at the practice wish Steve a happy and relaxing retirement and we will all miss him very very much, he has been the most amazing boss! ūüíö

Friends,
I have been overwhelmed by the comments which have been posted over the last few hours.. As you may be aware, Pam and I joined Independent Vet Care nearly a year ago with the view that this would enable us to gradually merge into retirement. A couple of months ago Pam handed over the management side of the Practice to Amy Leyland who is now doing sterling work dealing with the increasing amount of legislative and administrative work that is essential these days. I n...ow feel it is time for me to start to reduce my clinical work so that I can at least get my garden in order! To this end I will be taking a couple of months off work before returning in a more consultative role and to provide extra cover when required. George will become Clinical Director and will be well supported by Charlotte, Eliza and now Laura who has lots of experience within the breeding and showing field. I will be back in May for a short time to provide holiday cover and then possibly settle into a 2 or 3 day week over the following months. After 30 years I feel that the majority of clients who visit our Practice have become my friends. I am now seeing the animals of people who first came to the practice as young children with their parents. It has been a demanding but fulfilling vocation and Pam and I are very proud of the legacy which is ‚ÄėGilmore Veterinary Surgery‚Äô having always striven to provide a professional and caring service for the animals under our care. We would like to thank you for your loyalty and support over the years and the staff who have been with us along the journey. So, although you may very well be seeing less of me over the next few months, this is definitely ‚Äėau revoir‚Äô and not ‚Äėadieu!‚Äô Love Steve

User

Whilst I was on holiday last week I had asked my dad to contact you regarding my little chicken "pink" who has been poorly for a few weeks ! You were absolutely excellent with her and whilst sadly she passed away before returning to you on sat morning I'm really confident to return to you without hesitation should my other four chickens have any problems in the future. You are caring, reliable, accommodating and honest with your advice ! Thank you all very much

User

We have always been more than pleased with Gilmore's. We recently had to visit with our jack Russell, Seth who is 13. He had a growth on his back leg. Mr Gilmore removed it a few days later. Seth is now back to his normal fabulous. Seth. Thankyou Gilmore's. We wouldn't trust anyone else with our dogs.

User

We can't thank George and everyone at Gilmores for the care and compassion they showed our dog Evie in her last years. Losing a dog who has been part of the family is so sad, you helped make it as bearable as it could be. Thank you.

User

Very professional and really caring vets. Always happy to help and have been great with my guinea pigs over the years. Even sent me a card when my girl passed away which was really sweet and very much appreciated!!! Can't speak highly enough of all the staff! You can tell their primary interest is helping animals, not making money! It's very rare in this day and age! I will never use another vets! X

User

Twice i had to sadly take my old poorly cats here to help them pass on. I was blubbering and in a right state but these vets talked me through it and were so gentle with my cats and empathic with me. Highly recommended 100%

User

Thank you for all the care and compassion you gave us last week when we had to say goodbye to our sweet Amber. From the moment I rang and was given an appointment by the lovely reception team to the advice and comfort given by the vets and nurse who helped. Also your lovely card that arrived today...Im overwhelmed with all your kindness. Andrea

User

Such amazing service for my chihuahua princess who had 2 broken bones in her paw I can’t thank Stephen enough for giving my dog the best care ever and making her better.

Recently took our bulldog Salty to Gilmore's after being misdiagnosed with a tummy bug. Was told she had an infection in her lady parts. Went back for 5days each day why she had antibiotic injections (as she hadn't ate for 10days so wouldn't have tablets). Eventually Mr Gilmore decided to get her in to be spayed. She was in and out the same day and is now back to her silly and naughty self. Would highly recommend Mr Gilmore and his team who went the extra mile to get Salty better and have let us pay after all the treatment was completed as after paying £300 at the emergency vets for a misdiagnosis left us short. Just proves they care about each animal they treat and it isn't just a business like most vets.

User

Our Bulldogs Pippa & Penny have been so well cared for by Gilmore Vets. They have both had successful surgeries with Stephen and George and I wouldn't dream of taking them elsewhere. Stephen is a fountain of knowledge and the staff are always so helpful and caring. From The Whitesides, thank you so much.

My dog snoopy has been coming here for 10 years and cant thank them enough for the care they've given him,hes a poorly old boy with so many problems but George has kept him stable and happy for the last two years and is so lovely and kind with snoopy ÔŅĹ! Fab vets ÔŅĹ

User

Just wanted to thank you all at Gilmore's. We were heart broken last week when we lost Missi, our brown pudding of a Labrador. Thank you for comforting us at such a hard time and thank you for treating Missi with love and compassion even after she had passed. We were overwhelmed when we saw such a lovely engraved casket with her name on. It is just beautiful. Couldn't recommend you guys enough ÔŅĹ Have a lovely Christmas!

User

I've had to write a review after the absolute thorough care, knowledge and genuine love given to my three dogs today. Andreas was thorough and answered everything patiently and made us feel in top hands. And a massive thank you to vet nurse Nicole whom went above and beyond in the weight clinic we have started and I can't believe this devotion is free. I could've cried with happiness to get everything sorted and a plan of attack underway. Looking forward to seeing results and feel in completely competent and caring hands. Thank you so very very much xx Comet Jack Elsa Crossland Leiper x

I have never been to any other vet since Gilmores opened. The vets are totally commited and nothing is too much trouble for them. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you. Many times I have rung up and got an appt straight away. They have looked after my German Shepherds superbly and I would not trust any one else. I would trust them with my life. Thank you Gilmores for being outstanding in all you do.

User

Gilmore took care of our beloved 14 year old Labrador Henry in his last few weeks and we could not have been happier with how they did. Thank you so much for making his last moments comfortable and happy and for making us feel like Henry was as special to you as he was to us ‚̧ԳŹ would recommend these guys to anyone, brilliant service!

User

For over 20 years the Gilmore team, especially George, have cared for our dogs.

30 th December saw the saddest day of our lives, but we were dealt with, with care and compassion.

We can never thank you all enough.

Thank you

Excellent

Booked in with Barney the bulldog pup (8weeks 3 days)for cherry eye in both eyes

Steve was really nice and was very thorough explaining the procedure and the reasons why this does occur

Barney was all finished in less than 5 mins!

User

Can’t thank Mr Gilmore and his team enough. Brought Hercules last Monday as he would clasp when it was warm. He new exactly what he needed to do to sort Hercules out and booked him in for the the following week, (yesterday). Hercules is home doing great and his breathing has improved massively. Won’t take my Bulldogs anywhere else

User

All the staff at Gilmore Veterinary surgery are wonderful...whether I'm just popping in to buy food or attending for something more serious...the level of support is second to none and if you have a bully breed, big or small Stephen Gilmore really understands their complexities...my boy Hugo loves his 'Uncle Steve'!
