We noticed this was new to Eastbourne, saw that it already had great reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook and decided to give it a whirl. We're so pleased we did, as we've now found a new favourite! The owner took the time to run through the home-made dishes on the menu and we ordered prawn and beef dumplings (divine!) , gangam fried chicken (tasty and tender) , avocado salad (so fresh with a delicious dressing) and bulgogi beef (mouth-watering). The food arrived promptly, was served with a smile and was of the highest quality and incredibly tasty. The wine list was also excellent, and the Japanese plum wine is definitely worth a try. The bill was also a pleasant surprise! We'll be back soon, and expect we'll need to book as the word gets out!

This is a refreshing addition to Eastbourne dining.

It was great to take some time to wind down, have some amazing, authentic home cooked Korean food and enjoy the experience.

If you want generic fast food, this is the wrong place to go.

Go in, relax, eat, relax, eat some more.

Stumbled across this place on Sunday evening and I'm thrilled we did! We were the only table dining to begin with but others soon joined, they have only been open a month but once word gets around this place will be heaving. We were able to order as we went along as everything is made fresh and it meant we could add more if needed or not. Ended up ordering less than first expected (everything on the menu sounded amazing) because we were so stuffed. Fried pork dumplings, Gangnam fried chicken, salty edamame and sizzling teriyaki chicken with spicy kimchi. All of it was superb. Can't wait to get back there for more plum wine and hot saki.

Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and service, life is too rushed. Take time to savour the quality.

Spent a lovely evening here last night with 2 friends. Nice varied Asian style menu, China, Korea and Japan, something for everyone but not complicated. Great range of alcoholic beverages; some very hard to find in UK. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive, polite service, but feel that they may need more staff if it gets busy. In all a welcome change for Eastbourne I will go back and wish them every success.

Really nice fresh food full of flavour. We went with our 2 children one 16 and one 6 and they both loved it! Friendly service and nice relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!!

Had meant to try the Fat Dumpling for a while so I ended up getting a takeaway from there one evening. Two portions of dumpling was a perfect amount of food, freshly cooked while I waited, very tasty both fried and steamed. I went back the next evening with company and had a delicious sit down meal too!

Had a takeaway with prawn fried dumpings, prawn noodles and prawn tempura sushi...amazing...everything tasted wonderful and the sushi was truly exceptional..really lovely polite friendly service from the person who took my order and helped me order based on what I said I liked ..fab and will defiantly order again 😀

Good Food s religion for me n the Fat Dumpling already became my fav place to eat in the County... the quality of ingredients, the freshness, the passionate handmade way to produce art in a bite... you got it all guys n I hope you carry on this way ���

Popped in for some dumplings for our anniversary and to reminisce our honeymoon.



We weren't disappointed. Friendly service, good recommendations when we made our order - actually to eat less because we would have ordered too much - big respect for that!



Tip: As soon as they saw my lanyard and work clothes they made sure that the dumplings would be ready for our limited lunch break without feeling rushed. Food arrived at perfect intervals! If you have a limited time they will definitely cater for you!

Fab food, reasonably priced, Staff friendly and interesting and extremely welcoming. The Dumplings are simply heaven😇. Lunchtime menu too, decor perfect I will most certainly be returning to ‘The Fat Dumpling’

Best restaurant in Eastbourne. The food it beautiful and service perfect. Japanese food is a great mix of meat (chicken, beef, pork) and tasty seafood. I have eaten in Japan on many occasions and this restaurant is up there with the best.

Been coming here ever since it reopened up as the fat dumpling and it is now my favourite restaurant in Eastbourne. The homemade dumpling is delicious and my favourite is the spicy belly pork. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for real authentic taste.

Had a wonderful meal here. Loved the salmon and avocado sushi and thought the gangham chicken and avocado salad were delicious and excellent value for money - the chicken was only £4.50 and it was a really big portion. The wait for food wasn't too long, this is all cooked to order, so it comes very fresh and hot, perfect. I'd definitely recommend going here for an evening meal.
