Some photos of our two world cup competitors Aliyah and Natasha. Well done to both of you.
Congratulations to our newest yellow belt Miheala, our new green belts Anisa and Hamza and our newest red belt Natasha. You will now all have to improve your karate ready for the next step on your karate journey.
All the best to Miheala, Anisa,Natasha and Hamza who are all attempting their next grade today, see you later.
Mini tournament at Wollescote dojo. Two separate competitions the brown belts in one ring and lower grades in another ring. Kata and kumite done as a Round Robin so everyone could practice. Congratulations to Aliyah as the upper grade champion for both kata and kumite and Natasha as the lower grades champion for both kata and kumite. Next week's class will start at 10.30 and finish at 11.30 for one week only as the hall is not available after 11.30. Everyone please make an effort to get to class early so we can start on time!
A great opportunity to train with the West Midlands Senior Instructor and pick up some tips for your Kata & Kumite!

Awesome not star wars session this morning! Well done to Madison for being student of the month for April. Live long and prosper! ( I know that's Star Trek but I really don't like Star Wars!)
Training still on at Wollescote dojo in the morning. Should be an eggcellent class!Training still on at Wollescote dojo in the morning. Should be an eggcellent class!
Interesting class this morning concentrating on hip movement in long forward stance without compromising the strength of the stance (and you all thought you were doing soto uke!). Little bit of work on other blocks and stances. Confused everyone by doing kumite in the middle of the class and kata at the end just for a change.
I'm planning to do some drills using sumo stance and horse riding stance over the next couple of weeks.
Congratulations to Madison for passing her 4th kyu red belt grading.
Congratulations to our 3 ladies who competed at tournament today Aliyah, Claire and Natasha all have places in our world cup competition and some medals as well.
Split class today with "Sensei for a day" Claire Monkman going through the grading syllabus with our yellow and white belts and me going through part of the brown belt grading requirements with our higher grades.
Congratulations to Miheala for passing her 9th kyu assessment.
Well done to Natasha and Madison for keeping up with the brown belts!

A reminder that next week is grading on Sunday. All welcome to train, don't forget grading class counts as 2 hour lessons towards the requirements for your next belt.
