Glenryck Foods has been owned by South Africa's Oceana Group Ltd, (www. oceana. co. za), since April 2004. In South Africa, Oceana's famous Pilchard brand is their iconic Lucky Star.
Glenryck and Lucky Star pilchards are justly reknowned as convenient, healthy and very good value sources of protein and Omega 3, which consumers love.
Oceana are one of the biggest conglomerates in South Africa, involved in catching, processing and procuring pilchards, sardines, anchovies, redeye herring, lobster, mackerel, squid, hake and other fish.
Oceana employs over 1200 permanent staff plus 1000 seasonal employees during periods of fishing activities.
Glenryck pilchards are fished, canned and shipped from South Africa and Namibia to Europe.
