Come and join us at the Skip Garden to celebrate all things seeds, the signals of the beginning of Spring and the stirrings of new life. We will be growing, cooking, sprouting, swapping, creating, wondering and marvelling at the knowledge, qualities and life that seeds hold.
We believe that now, more than ever, we must reconnect with the land. In the last 100 years, 80% of plant biodiversity has been lost in Europe. Alongside this loss, we are also losing the local knowledge,... culture and skills of women and men who know how to farm in a sustainable way, and who place seed saving at the heart of their farming system.
We would like to contribute to reconnecting with the land and celebrate the life that seeds hold and the knowledge of our ancestors through bringing people together at this gathering in the Skip Garden, learning from each other and enjoying good company and good food.
This event is free but there are limited spaces. Please RSVP to reserve your place on our Eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/seeds-fest ival-tickets-41209…

When we say wheat what do you think of? Golden fields? Flour? Bread?
I bet you don't think of seeds? Each grain of wheat is a seed which if planted will grow into a new plant and many new seeds. Science? Magic? Both?
Come along to our workshop at The Skip Garden to learn about history of grains and how civilisation was built upon them; the science behind crops, the soil and growing; and the mystical folklore and their significance in communities throughout the ages.
... Plant your own ancient and modern wheat seeds to grow this coming year and even mill some into flour to take home and bake with.
This workshop will be lead by scientist, storyteller, and sustainable food nerd Abi Glencross who has a true passion for all things that grow. Once a cellular agriculturalist, Abi now works on a number of projects which aim to promote a more sustainable approach to growing and eating. Her most recent projects are Future Farm Labs and Sustainable Food Story.
This talk is free to attend but we will have our donation hive for those able to contribute towards our work.
Please RSVP: generate@globalgeneration.org.uk as spaces are limited
