Global Hope

Global Hope gives students and staff the opportunity to volunteer in developing countries around the world.

Global Hope gives students and staff the opportunity to volunteer in developing countries around the world in locations as diverse as India, Sri Lanka, Malawi, Brazil and Uganda. The charity has strong links with partners such as SOS Children’s Villages UK, the Tibetan community in India, the Sisters of Notre Dame, Mountains of the Moon University and MissaoRamacrisna. New collaborative projects will be developed with other organisations and groups as Global Hope’s service and community work evolves.



Teams of students and staff travel overseas to work on specific projects which could see your for example working in a school or orphanage to the people there. You are provided with training on cultural issues, health and safety abroad, dimensions of poverty and planning for overseas projects.



A highlight for the University and many Global Hope partners was the ‘Big Hope’ in June 2008, a Global Youth Congress which enabled many colleagues from overseas to be involved with educational and related activities at Liverpool Hope University. The University is proud of its reputation as a provider of dynamic students and staff for its work with overseas partners. As a mark of quality, recruitment for Global Hope projects is solely from students undertaking the Service and Leadership Award.

Global Hope is spreading good, modern and relevant educational practise through the involvement of a range of dynamic, innovative and motivated staff with estimable scholarly expertise and achievements.

On a day to day basis, the Global Hope team work to secure projects, to raise funds, to organize travel, to train the students, to induct staff, to ensure health and safety standards have been met and finally to send off (and importantly, receive home) happy and healthy teams. Global Hope is looking forward to continually supporting current partnerships and to expand to meet new challenges with new partners in many new locations.
