This course explores different specific learning difficulties such as ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia. It looks at how they are diagnosed and how individuals can be supported. This fantastic course has given me a better understanding of how we as a business can support and understand these learning difficulties some of our students face .
This is the first of six courses I have signed up to complete over this year .

Personal license course
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at individuals working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence.
... How long will it take?
The total qualification time (TQT) for this qualification is 10 hours and of this 8 are recommended as guided learning hours (GLH).
Topics covered
These include the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence, the legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities, the nature and strength of alcohol and the effect on the body and the law in relation to premises licences.
Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination.

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor. It is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.
How long will it take?
... To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 45-hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 32.5 contact hours (4-days) if flexible distance learning is undertaken. Please refer to Highfield's qualification specification for further details on suitable methods of distance learning.
Topics covered
These include the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements, the role and objectives of a door supervisor, powers of arrest relevant to a door supervisor, how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations, good practice to follow after conflict situations, physical interventions and the implications of their use and the use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.

We sent some of our staff from Mavericks 80’s lounge on a First aid course with Global partnership training academy and it was a fantastic experience. The tutor Pete Clarke took great care and time into his lessons with them and answered all their questions in as much detail as possible and helped them understand anything that they didnt know. The lessons were very enjoyable and everyone left with a great knowledge of First Aid and I would definitely recommend this service to anyone experienced or not.

I personally think that global partnerships really helped me out alot and gain confidence to work in the security industry as they were very helpful and supportive throughout the 6 week course and was an experience i will never forget.

Had my exam on Fri, feeling very confident because I had an amazing teacher Peter Clarke. The days went quick because Peter made it fun and shared his own experiences with us, making it easier to understand and relate to security. Looking forward to completing my CCTV course with Global Partnership in the near future.
